Some Quick Info About This Account:

  • It has 2 owners; Birch(Owner 1) and BP(Owner 2)

The reason for this is so we can easily help each other out with our decks instead of sending screenshots to each other or having to publish it and do all of this other crazy stuff. Publishing it would work but it doesn't feel right publishing unfinished work. It just feels wrong to me. I talked to Birch and they said it was alright. If you have any questions, message us but make sure that you let us know who your talking to so that we can answer accordingly. Otherwise, I'll be the one answering. If you want your question and answer to be posted on the wall as part of a Q/A section I might be doing, let us know. If you don't want it to be featured, say so and we will not feature it. We will respect your privacy. We can also have you be anonymous if you so please.

Again: This Account Is Run By 2 Owners.

Sincerely, BP

Now that that's out of the way.

Those are some excellent suggestions, defamagraphy1. I might trade out Archfiend's Vessel for Dire Tactics and Revitalize for the Light of Hope as I have card draw from Taborax, Hope's Demise. Thank's so much for those suggestions. They'll be added to the deck in the near future.

defamagraphy1, I like the suggestion, but I try to avoid auras, mainly because they go the graveyard if the creature leaves the battlefield, either by exile, death, or returning to hand, thus resulting in a net loss. Plus, if I do run them, it's usually for bigger creatures (P/T and CMC) as it's harder to get rid of them. I do love it though, but sadly it's not something like an equipment.

MrBoombastic, I'll check out that article when I have time. And with the lands, I've usually only run 20-21 lands in my aggro decks so I guess it kinda stuck with me when building this deck. I usually play rakdos aggro so the curve is usually toward the lower side, and since this deck is a bit higher I might add more lands later, or at least add them to the side board. At least right now, I have had no problems with lands, but that's not to say I won't later so who knows. And again, I wholeheartedly agree with the 60-card decks, and I would have done it to begin with, but since this works out fine for now, I'm keeping it. If it was something higher than 66, then it would need some rework. As for your question, yes. I have consistently gained more than 3 life a turn, so it checks out. It works better when you can make it a 3/6 with Heliod, Sun-Crowned to get it more consistently, but with all of the lifegain sources in this deck, it works quite well. Also helps that it's not a legendary creature so you can have 4 of them on the field and all you need is just to gain 3 life for your opponent to take 12.

And, if you want to check out the other fun deck I made, go ahead. It's the A Basic Guide to Selesnyan Counting deck that is featured towards the beginning of the description. I'd love your input on that if you could.

Alright. I want to start off by saying thank you for all of these suggestions MrBoombastic. Now here are my responses:

  • Taborax, Hope's Demise was something that I always thought about putting in my deck, but replacing Grimdancer isn't something that I want to do. The main reason being the deathtouch counter, which has saved me more times than I can count on my hands when I playtested this deck. If anything, I might replace Expedition Healer and one of the Indulging Patrician for it, or Cling to Dust and 1 or 2 Revitalize depending on needs.

  • Nullpriest of Oblivion is probably going to be added in to replace whatever Taborax, Hope's Demise doesn't replace in the options above.

  • Impassioned Orator is indeed a direct upgrade. Only thing being... it's Core 2020, which is rotating out, so sadly not going to make it in the deck.

  • Hallowed Priest is indeed an arena-only card as it's part of the Arena Beginner Set, which isn't standard legal anyway. It's really just a reprinted Ajani's Pridemate.

  • I'm most definitely going to run some more of the modal lands. My friends have be egging me to do it for quite a while. Emeria's Call and Agadeem's Awakening are definitely going in.

  • In my personal experience, I have never run more than 23 lands at any given time if the deck itself isn't centered around the lands. My friends will also tell you the same thing. I'm not saying you're wrong, it's just my personal preference. And I'm not having any land troubles so far so I'm good for now. (And it's Radiant Fountain, not Hallowed Fountain)

  • I definitely agree with your statement, but in this particular case, I'm doing perfectly fine right now. I'm currently not having much, or any, consistency issue, so why fix something that's not broke. And I'm not having trouble choosing what to get rid of either, I just don't feel the need to do so right now. Should I find consistency issues in playtesting, I'll change up the deck, but until then, the disclaimer is staying.

Anyway, hope that clears some stuff up, and thanks again for your suggestions. If you have anything else you want to suggest or questions you want to ask, let me know.

Said on A Basic Guide …...

I like the suggestion Murphy77. Only thing is that when I have an absurd amount of insect tokens, why not just do a full swing with them instead. They're dispensable and your opponent probably won't be blocking all 100+ 5/5 insects. I will keep this suggestion in mind if I find that yours works better.

Ok, thanks. I took a look at it and I saw Clackbridge Troll. I was concerned until I read the ability. Anyway, I'll keep that deck to the side and keep referencing it if I want to alter my deck. Helps to have a general idea of some of the cards that are good together.

Limo thanks so much for those suggestions. I'll probably end up replacing Ayara, First of Locthwain with the Speaker of the Heavens and some basic lands or the life gain duals with Radiant Fountain. Thanks again. Didn't know I missed such valuable cards.

Ok scotchtapedsleeves, got my 2nd deck up and running if you want to feature it. Up to you. Basic Guide to Selesbian Counting

September 17, 2020 5:12 p.m.

Hey, scotchtapedsleeves, I was wondering if you can feature my Orzhov's Damaging Lifelink deck on here. Also, you can remove the other 2 I had before if you want. I'm making 2 decks for the Zendikar Rising set and rotation and this is one of them. I did make sure to put the custom link in the description to here.

And Wihito, I absolutely LOVE that layout! Very nice and clean!
