  • I removed Liliana The Last Hope from MD because it did absolutely nothing against some MU. She is a very good add against control decks and slow decks. Her place seems to be better in sideboard.

  • I've added 2 bone shards instead of 2 liliana's triumph. The card is very cheap for its effet and has the advantage to target any creature or PW with few constraints (discard a card at worst). It helps againsts planeswalkers that may close the game like Jace. Likewise, targeting the right creature in fast aggro MU is a plus. To be tested a bit longer.

  • I've also removed 2 chains of smog to get more basic swamps. Having no more than 2 mana was a situation that I've encountered too often. This midrange setup must be able to cast spells for CCM 3 in case dark ritual is not there. Chain of smog rarely met its combo and becomes quite a bad topdeck in the middle of the game.

  • I Had first one Liliana of the Veil. She made so much that I went to 2. She made so much again that I got the 3rd. Once the opponent has no more cards in hand and no more creatures on board, she makes the job by herself waiting for a menace to come. I'm even considering the 4th.

  • I've replaced Chains of Mephistopheles for 2 reasons: 1) it's too expensive and 2) trinisphere T1 does really well against MU that may be challenging.

Answer to comments:

"Why don't you play smallpox?"

The answer is simple: I have not enough lands and too much creatures. True the witch can create tokens, but she's not always here to do so. Smallpox is a very good option in prison builds, but clearly not for that midrange discard / creature killer / light offensive strategy. Having 4 wastelands and 4 sinkhole is enough.

Concerning cards:

  • Dauthi is a real good add to mono black. Blue has its 3/2 Flying. Monoblack has its 3/2 shadow grave killer with a its capacity to play opponent's cards for free. I'm really confident with this little demon.

  • Sedgemoore Witch. Just great. Not as much as Dauthi, but she's a killer too.

  • Liliana of the Veil. She Made me win quite a few games just by herself. She synergise really well with the rest.
