Omenspeaker is out, Nivix Cyclops is in.

I'm contemplating removing Aqueous Form

Delver of Secrets  Flip seem out of place. It's not standard legal. Otherwise, I've been thinking about a different version of RU, based more on Guttersnipe.

I guess you're right. I just felt that with both Flamespeaker and Spellheart, the creature curve would start out too high, and numbers of creatures would be too low.

Would Omenspeaker be even more out of place than Delver of Secrets  Flip ?

Frostburn Weird is also very solid. It will take some playtesting, but I think the scry on Omenspeaker helps its case.

Steam Augury is a good draw that also buff your grave for Chimera.

And talking about that wonderful creature... she is a proper finisher! A Flying nightmare! Flamespeaker Adept is a good beater, but lack evasion. Why not empower her a little?

With so many scys to filter them out, you could run one or two innocent copies of Traumatize .

Imagine this: Suddenly, you drop half of your deck in the grave, and attack with a 12 (or more) / 3 Trampler, Flyer.

That what I call finish with style.

Thanks for the suggestions. I am hesitant to run Traumatize because of the casting cost. Steam Augury could be good for when the creatures just don't show up.

I'm not sure what I should replace it for. I might consider dropping a single Izzet Charm .

Do you have any suggestions on cuts?

I would cut Mizzium Skin .

When speaking about pinpoint protections, my politic is "Run all of them, or dont run them at all". Every Standar deck right now have dozens of removals: Abrupt Decay , Doom Blade , Anger of the Gods , Supreme Verdict , Hero's Downfall , Lightning Strike , Detention Sphere , Putrefy ... the list is endless. Standard is flooded with good removals, and your babies die for almost all of them.

There is no point in running 2 copies of a defensive spell that might or might not come in the right time, when every enemy you fight will have removals at hand. The best way to deal with it in a aggro-combo deck is to have ALL DEM PROTEKTS, like 8 defensive mechanisms... or just no defense at all - focus on draw, card advantage, and make it so every monster you drop will be deadly.

Steam Augury is good no matter when you draw it, and can rearm you in case of wipe.

A very valid point. Mizzium Skin is out and replaced by Steam Augury is back in.

Should it also replace Izzet Charm ?

Dunno. Izzet Charm has great utility. Not deadly, like Boros Charm or Simic Charm , but good.

Maybe Negate (or Dissipate for the Scry) could do a better job in the slot. Negate is not the best counter, of course, but can deal with Planewalkers, Sphinx Revelation, and removals. Its versatile, at low cost. Creatures are not exactly your problem.

Talking about creatures... try 1 Rogue's Passage in the deck. One can never have too much Unblock-ability at hand.

Whilst Goldfishing, Izzet Charm has only served as card-sifting, but I agree. Many of the charms in general are great.

I actually -did- have Rogue's Passage in here, but I felt that it:

a) Locked down too much mana for unblockability

b) Would screw me over on mana saturation.

I opted to run Thassa, God of the Sea instead.

Cool deck so far,

I think you should absolutely keep Izzet Charm, charm spells are great and that one fits really well in this scheme. Though you might want to think about adding a Meletis Charlatan or two to augment all those spells. Even though it will take extra mana to trigger it's copy ability I think it would be worth it. You could remove one Omenspeaker and/or one Chimera to make room (you'd be ok with three of either of those).

You could also put in Dissolve; that would satisfy your need for a counter spell and it goes with the scry pattern you've got going on.

Hope that helps! :)

Thanks for the feedback, I appreciate. I hadn't thought about the Meletis Charlatan . I am unsure whether or not he has a place, but I will playtest around a bit with him. in place of an Omenspeaker .

Dissolve , I am not too keen on. The scry is good obviously, but I won't need the scry bonus from Flamespeaker Adept on the opponents turn, so it's a bit misplaced. Also the 1UU spell, also strains my mana base even further, which I'm not too keen on. I would try it, but I think I'm going to try Negate instead.

Sweet @Dallie

Meletis Charlatan was in the test phase in my Steam Izz it but had to cut it... just got in the way. I'm really looking to mainboard Epic Experiment as really think about it....... got what you need out.... BAM!

@MrKnify: I will try it out, but I don't think it'll work too well. This deck rarely wants to make games longer than turn 5 or 6, and thus statistically I'll get 1-2 spells cast for each Epic Experiment . Which seems rather underwhelming.

But thanks for the suggestion and feedback!

I playtested my deck with @Gorgosaurusrexs TurboMaze and if I did not win by turn 5/6 I lost due to fog meta. made me add Skullcrack

also unless you add more Thassa, God of the Sea I think you would be better of with Nivix Cyclops rather than Flamespeaker Adept .

@CW: I agree with most of your suggestions, though I don't think Goblin Electromancer has a place, as most of the spells have low costs.

Thanks! I'll definitely play around with Nivix Cyclops , which would also allow me to run more powerful spells.
