There may be questions about High Alert vs Assault Formation. They are both good for different things. High Alert is strongest when Axebane Guardian is available for infinite combo, which is not yet true in Historic. Assault Formation notably ALSO benefits from the big mana produced by guardian, so it's a bit of a toss up. But one of my favorite payoffs for fair defenders is March of the Multitudes, which gives the nod to formation.

Traditionally in older formats it would run a strong green tutor like Chord of Calling or Eladamri's Call, but...Finale of Devastation is kinda meh, so here we are.
