Gingerbread is a 100-card, shared deck MTG format for 2-4 players where the players are bakery owners trying to create the ultimate feast for the Royal Family of Eldraine while sabotaging their opponents.

Rules: Players begin with 1 Dockside Chef and 3 Food tokens in play. All players share a 100-card deck and graveyard. Food tokens are the life total, so an unblocked or trampling creature attacking a player destroys Food tokens equal to their power or trample damage. Food tokens are artifacts with no abilities. Any card text that refers to gaining or losing life is instead assumed to mean that many Food tokens. Play begins by determining starting player, after which each player draws 7 cards. At the end of a turn, if a player has zero or at least 20 Food, or if a player is compelled to draw a card from an empty deck, the game immediately ends and Food token totals are compared. The player with the most Food tokens wins. In case of a tie, the player with the most Gingerbread Cabin lands in play wins. If still tied, the player with the most Gilded Goose creatures in play wins. If the tie persists, the players share the victory.

All other normal MTG rules apply.

Updates Add

After some initial play testing at all player counts, we’ve swapped out 2 Savvy Hunter for 2 Golden Egg. It seemed like there were plenty of creatures, while adding some card draw from the ETB effect of Golden Egg has felt better.
