TypicalTimmy I can’t remember why I took it out in the first place. Maybe I disliked giving opponent’s cards, or it could be the fact that I only need specific cards in the graveyard and not a critical mass of them. It’ll go back in after I find a copy.

Profet93 I want Deflecting Swat so bad, but nobody’s trading it right now. I’ll get it for this deck eventually.

Hey, im building a feldon deck similar to this. I have wayyyy too much discard though (like 18). What do you think is a good number? 10-12 seems decent?

Also out of curiosity...I notice your "changes" in the description, but it doesn't look like the actual decklist is updated based off your changes?

Mercfh85 I'm curious what changes you're referring to. My decklist is mostly up to date, and I don't use all of the creatures mentioned in the "Strength and Weaknesses" as well as "Reanimate --> Damage Creatures" section. They're just put there for general reference so people looking through the deck know of other options available. Although I do want to update anything that may seem confusing so I don't give off the wrong idea about the deck.

As for discard, I've found the amount of discard I'm running, around 13 cards, is barely enough. If 18 seems like too much, then I'd say the good range for discard effects is 12-16. Card advantage is good, though, so running a higher number of effects like that is fine.

Any thoughts on Sarkhan, Fireblood in the deck? I'm testing him out in the version I'm building based on your build!

I'm also considering Kozilek, the Great Distortion as a counterspell in the GY and a discard outlet.

I know it takes some setup but it seems like a decent repeatable option.

Lanzo493 im stupid, I realized I was looking at the wrong changes. ignore that. Also 12-16 sounds about right. If you get a moment would you mind looking at my deck and offering some suggestions:

My deck:

I still need to make a few cuts, and am wondering if I am going in the general direction correctly (also I know Blightsteel Colossus isn't going to work with Feldon, it's purely a pet card for sneak attack sneaky kills :) )

Mercfh85 I'm not OP but I would highly suggest more ramp. The deck needs to be able to Hard cast the big creatures in the event feldon gets hated out and the earlier you can get him on the board the better.

AnthonyB0712 I think Sarkhan, Fireblood is decent. He gets at least 1 discard, so that’s good. He does compete for the 3 drop space your commander is also in. If you run lots of dragons, then he’s really good. I used to run Sarkhan's Triumph in this deck wit how many dragons I used to have.

I dislike Kozilek, the Great Distortion. He’s narrow, and Feldon lacks a way to keep his hand full as well. Better cards for “countering” would be Dualcaster Mage and Emissary of Grudges.

Whats your thoughts on Steel Hellkite? It seems often suggested but I feel like with the ability to bring back removal options it feels "slow" and not something I necessarily want to waste feldon's ability on.

Steel Hellkite has 2 things going for it. It can get rid of pesky artifacts and enchantments that slow you down and wipe out tokens. I have other removal options so I don’t run it myself.

It's great for the enchantments red can't get.

Thanks for the reminder, Profet93. I definitely will add Blast Zone.

Can you clarify what combos Worldgorger enables? If you make a copy of Worldgorger with Feldon it only dies in the end step so how do you reuse your cards a 2nd time when the cards come back in the beginning of the end step?

War Room - Draw

Sensei's Divining Top - Utility

Ugin Ineffable + Top + Experimental Frenzy = Draw your whole deck. Ugin + top are good on their own, frenzy is a wild card. Although I think with Feldon you prioritze activating him than casting cards in hand

Humble Defector - Draw, politics, synergy with homeward path, nice with feldon, cheap to cast and buy

Ignite the Future/Light Up the Stage - Draw, not needed but worth mentioning

Love Feldon! One of the best cards of all time, design-wise. Definitely an all-time favorite of mine. Your deck was definitely an inspiration in me building my own deck. Every time I visit this page I find something new that's super useful. Like, how have I never thought of adding Sandstone Oracle or Ancient Stone Idol??

Happy to be the 100th upvoter. You deserve it! Great deck/primer you have going on here :)

Question. Here's my issue, how do I deal with decks like Negan that love to control creatures and keep commanders off the board. Killing it doesnt stop because they can easily blink or play it again. The other is Gix. The value, the mana ramp, the life gain, and everything in that mono black is just soooooo overwhelmingly powerful.

nintura1182 Great questions. As far as keeping commanders off the board, Feldon has a distinct advantage. He usually gets underestimated and targeted last. If you find, though, that they’ve figured you out and target him, you have 2 options. You can either get enough mana out and a haste enabler to use him before he can be removed (I’ve got 6 haste enablers) or you can hard cast threats from your hand. I always like to warn people that what they kill I can reanimate several times over, so it deters them from killing what I want to keep around.

As far as Gix is concerned, a good boardwipe should help. Feldon recovers the best in a boardwipe and does fairly well in the late game. Aim to keep the board under control until you can make a game ending move that either kills multiple people or puts you in an overwhelming position. Since Feldon can be activated at instant speed, you can always wait to see what the best option is. You can temporarily double up on your tokens as well if you activate Feldon during the end step before yours, untap, and use him again. All the tokens will die at the end of your own turn.

Feldon can be changed A LOT depending on your meta. You can add more removal, more draw, more boardwipes, etc. My deck changes based on what I see that I need more of. I needed more lifegain, so I put Wurmcoil Engine back in and it singlehandedly won me a game.

Hi, love Feldon and love your decklist, I have a few suggestions: Determined Iteration, Industrial Advancement, Fable of the Mirror-Breaker  Flip

Looks like I’ve missed some of the commander deck cards. I like Determined Iteration since it’s so cheap. Fable of the Mirror-Breaker  Flip has great discard and other utility so I’ll be adding the one I have. Industrial Advancement doesn’t exactly match how I play the deck, but it works really well so I’ll keep it in mind.
