The concept behind this deck is to create a soft lock between Maralen of the Mornsong and Ashiok, Dream Render to prevent an opponent from developing their board by common methods. (AKA fetchlands/card draw). The deck is designed to establish an early form of card advantage by denying your opponents resources or by casting an early Giver of Runes to protect your future payoffs. From there, you will want to get a Maralen of the Mornsong into play and use the protection given by Giver of Runes to manipulate the board state to your advantage. This is done by either killing their creatures off using the full suites of Fatal Push and Path to Exile or by getting Ashiok, Dream Render into play. The general plan from there is to push your card advantage engines of Dark Confidant (commonly known as bob) and Liliana of the Dark Realms to a large mana advantage which will be used to cast our win conditions. At this time, I am fancying Torment of Hailfire to take advantage of not only their decreasing life total from Maralen, but also their limited board presence. The kill conditions (barring creatures) are located in the sideboard to be used as silver bullets as needed.

Aven Mindcensor is just there as an additional way of hindering library searching.

Despark is to help combat decks that try to get large creatures into play during the first couple turns of the game. (Reanimator/Through the breach strats/Grishoalbrand/etc.

Leyline is to protect against hand disruption and burn.

Pithing needle is general help against decks that run permanent bases board sweepers (e.g. blast zone) and planeswalkers. Can also be used to stop fetchlands if you can catch an opponent off guard.

Torment of Hailfire and Consume Spirit for win conditions.

Extirpate for graveyard decks

Bontu's Last Reckoning for fast aggro decks.
