2015 Updates —June 6, 2015

Changed a few things, and got some more advice for this deck:

Added

-another 2 more Sol Rings to 3 total

-rounded out the playset of 4 Porcelain Legionnaires

-Added another Thopter Assembly for more air power

-3rd Kuldotha Forgemaster

-Karn Liberated and Ugin, the Spirit Dragon

Dropped

-Platinum Angel because I realized that I didn't need both it and Platinum Emperion, and the latter is harder to kill

-Darksteel Colossus. While I'm sad to see it go, (since I made this deck specifically for it like, 4 years ago....) I realize I don't need it and Blightsteel Colossus at the same time, so removed it for streamlining

-Both Precursor Golems

-Both Chimeric Masss to put in the Champions

-Both Everflowing Chalices for Sol Rings

-And lastly, Scuttling Doom Engine. Hard choice between that and removing Soul of New Phyrexia, but in the end, I realized that most of the appeal of the scuttler was when it died, but with Darksteel Forge and shroud from Indomitable Archangel, it becomes too hard to kill.

We'll see how well it goes now. Thoughts? =D

Man looks really fun and badass too! I would really like to see if the idea could be implemented in a modern deck with 60 cards. Having said that, i just want to share my personal ideas/changes on how to implement this deck in a Modern scenario.

If i'm not late to the party, you said in your latest update that you have it too fat at the back end...Well for starters you could add 4 Steel Overseer wich will greatly help Chimeric Mass and an eventual Inkmoth Nexus (if you prefer a more infect approach) aswell as Blinkmoth Nexus as the +1 counter will remain on those artifacts/land even when they get back to their original form and once they become creatures again they will still preserve the +1 counter. After that you can easily increase the number of Etched Champion to 4 (almost unstoppable guardians) and add 1 more Porcelain Legionnaire, these two creatures will greatly benefit from your Steel Overseer boon.

About the fatty ones I would drop the Platinum Emperion and some others big guys that while looking good, won't leave you enough space for other cards.

About the Artifacts i would drop Sol Ring (solely because it's banned in Modern), Voltaic Key because of conflict with the archangel shroud, I put in place another Unwinding Clock, Everflowing Chalice would be a bit slow at this point, Kind of reserved about Semblance Anvil unless it's effect is cumulative.

About the Lands, i would drop the banned artifact lands (all except the Darksteel Citadel ) and replace them with Glimmervoid, i would also put 4xInkmoth Nexus (Maybe Blinkmoth Nexus aswell) to server better the Blightsteel Colossus and Steel Overseer purpose.

At this point Tempered Steel would work really well alongside Steel Overseer, Dispatch sounds good and funny at the same time.

Now what it lacks is a better ramp for mana and card draw effects...a little research should be needed but all in all i like the concept. Keep up the good work!
