Scouting Trek

Sorcery

Search your library for any number of basic land cards. Reveal those cards, then shuffle your library and put them on top of it.

So Rootpath Purifier (lands you control and lands in your library are basic) in a decent built edh is there a place for this card? i mean besides Cultivate or abusing Evolving Wilds cards...not to mention Scouting Trek is there really an absurd, cool, WOW use for this? at first sight i was like wow i want this, but now im like...itll only interact with literally 2 cards and both are fetchers :S

Treasure Hunt would be a good follow-up to the Scouting Trek , though, immediately drawing you all those lands you stacked at the top of your deck, plus whatever non-land card is underneath them.

During the resolution of a spell or ability, no player has priority and therefore no player can cast spells or activate abilities.

You must wait for Scouting Trek to fully resolve before you’re able to cast Treasure Hunt .

Also, Treasure Hunt reveals until you hit a non-land, so even if you could somehow cast this with no lands in your deck, perhaps with Mana Severance , you’d reveal the first card and be finished, it wouldn’t draw your library.

Let's say I have Leyline of Anticipation down so I can cast sorceries as instants to start off.

So in Scouting Trek 's text, it says in the first part, "Search your library for any number of basic land cards, reveal them, and set them aside." Can I, in response to that, before shuffling my library and putting all the lands on top, cast Treasure Hunt as an instant and draw my entire library? Or do I have to let the sorcery completely resolve before interrupting it with an instant?

multimedia Thank you for the tips. To answer some of your questions

Land/ Ramp- people have told me i have to few lands, with too few ramps, I get that a lot. In playing people I actually haven't had any trouble with mana surprisingly. I do have 13 ramps, and 4 that turn all my lands into multiple colors... Chromatic Lantern , Riftstone Portal , Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth , and Mycosynth Lattice (Mycosynth lattice is a funny one that allows me to destroy everyones lands). I should still probably add Sol Ring like you said, it seems to be a staple and pretty good. There is mostly basics because well not just blood moon but i have a combo in the deck Scouting Trek + Animist's Awakening that allows me to pull all my basic lands out at once, and untapped. Could be a good combo or not it really is up to personal perspective i guess?

I like the idea of mana dorks, I just sac everything so i don't use them. Mostly i try to have every card in the deck have a double use.. at least trying.

Deathrite Shaman I just like this card and should add it you are right. Eladamri's Call I am not actually aware of why i haven't included this in the Deck its a cheap tutor. Scavenging Ooze I don't know why this isn't in the deck. Procrastination i guess? ha it's a killer card.

These are just some reasonings behind what i do if you have any feedback on the reasonings i am more than happy to have an open mind. Im all eyes. I would like to know also what you would have cut.

Library of Leng combos infinitely with Keen Sense or Snake Umbra . I think Scouting Trek is a mainboard, especially with the two cards listed above. Also, Grafted Exoskeleton and Triumph of the Hordes can kill out of nowhere. I built a similar deck which you can check out here:

I think you would probably be better off running Plasm Capture than Brass's Bounty since it let's you interact with your opponents and doesn't eat up your whole turn.

You might have some luck with Treasure Cruise but it seems like it might be awkward to play since the deck doesn't have any ways to fill up the graveyard other than just playing cards. I don't know what your planning for Scouting Trek but I don't see what it would add to the deck.

It’s funny, but I want to go Kydele / Ludevic myself, just because I like each card. But I agree with you that Riku is probably a stronger choice. These are the quandaries that make Commander fun...

Brass’s Bounty is expensive, but I like the redundancy to fight counter magic and speed the search for a combo. I was also thinking of running Rude Awakening for similar benefit.

I was also thinking of using the colors to use Treasure Cruise and Scouting Trek to get some synergies going... perhaps you had tried the same?
