As a fellow "true Griffin", I hope your nephew crushes it with this deck! I've got a lil nephew that's a Greenwood, so maybe I need to start working on an Elf tribal deck for him based around Greenwood Sentinel :D

More Order of Midnight would help get Polukranos, Unchained back from the self mill to avoid the escape cost. Blightbeetle is good, but it’s more of a sideboard card because of how specific it is. Also Scuttlemutt , Piper of the Swarm , and Greenwood Sentinel all feel out of place, they don’t help with milling and aren’t worth having for blockers. Maybe keep Piper of the Swarm... maybe. You’re also running a bit land heavy, I’d cut it down to 24 lands you shouldn’t need more than that.

For budget cards to add I’d recommend Glowspore Shaman, Nighthowler, Grisly Salvage, and Kraul Harpooner.

Loving the deck! I don't get to see enough Marwyn decks with pump effects, they're so good with her! There's a lot more untap sources you should try. My favorite is Emerald Charm because it works in so many situations! Malachite Talisman is also really interesting with Marwyn. If you have the money for it, Nyxbloom Ancient and Seedborn Muse would kick this deck into overdrive.

As for cuts, you could take out Greenwood Sentinel, Seer's Lantern, Voice of Many, and Wings of Hubris.

My apologies to TypicalTimmy, but I don't know any slasher fiction (and often, I feel like I can't contribute to this thread when presented with esoteric topics, or even the topic of commander, since I don't ever play commander/EDH). But hey, go ahead and re-issue the challenge when you get the chance.

I think we've actually had the green angel challenge before, but I can do another unique one. Green doesn't usually have flying, but it can have other weirdnesses (see Orchard Spirit and Thorn Elemental or Rhox for precedents for the abilities listed on this card).

With Vigilance (a green tertiary ability; see Greenwood Sentinel ) and its tap ability to allow your dudes to swing through defenders, it could be right nasty. Green also has a lot of combat tricks that result in untapping creatures too, so this would let you combine those effects for an even more potent blowout.

Wildcard. Maybe make something that fits TypicalTimmy's challenge from above, if you know slasher stuff, but I won't hold you to it.

Murphy77 Great points! This was an early brew, I actually ended up cutting Pelt Collector as well as going down to 2 banners, mostly as a stall breaker. The version I've run recently really uses Greenwood Sentinel or Untamed Kavu along with Blanchwood Armor to make 5 power on turn 3. That or just a Steel Leaf Champion . I also haven't looked at it since WAR came out, so my concoction is behind a bit.

I think that Emmara, Soul of the Accord would be a strong swap for Greenwood Sentinel also Venerated Loxodon is a must have in decks like this one.

Druid of the Cowl, Elfhame Druid, Llanowar Scout are other cheap options for more mana!

Greenwood Sentinel is a cheap elf with vigilance!

Marwyn, the Nurturer

Reclamation Sage IS CRUCIAL to get rid of pesky enchantments!

Steel Leaf Champion is an amazing early game bruiser

Multani, Yavimaya's Avatar is an amazing mono-green card that keeps coming back for more late game
