Game day! 2-2
knownasnieves, 12 years ago
So this is my first time playing this deck before the Blasphemous Act and Hellrider add ons .also playing against actually players In general.
1st match:: broken tears vs something weird w/u
1/3 : I destroyed with falkenrath aristocrat and stromkirk captain for an easy 1st game of three. 2/3: same thing but much faster with the reverbs and thracther revolts (funny stuff)
Match 1 : 1-0-0
2nd match:: broken tears vs azorius control
1/3 : I tried to overwhelm but it didn't work with board wipes and thragtusk coming out as often as it was. We went about 13 turns and he won it with armada wurm+token with two thragtusk and restoration angel, lost.
2/3: it was much harder for him since I've recognized his strategy and how his mechanics work. I think we went for 13 turns or so idk it's was long and really close but I couldn't stabilize after having two main creatures detentioned sphered . So lost again but wasn't really prepared for this deck, lost. Also just to add if it wasn't for my Tablet of the Guilds :) amazing card that's highly under rated I would've lost really fast.
So match 2: 1-0-1
Match 3: broken tears vs g/w aggro
1/3 :: it went pretty fast since I had no idea how to fight this at all . Just so fast lol lost 2/3 I learn pretty fast on how these aggro strategies work and this one was clever since he added vault of the arcangel as well but I had 2 falkenrath's 3 nighthawks 2 falkenrath marauders and 2stromkirk captains so I just held off his creatures until we drawed. All I have to say is that angel of serenity needed to come out for him and I was really lucky lol loss
3rd match:: 1-0-2
Match 4: broken tears vs grixis control
1/3 : it was realy close but my bonfire came out for the win to do 7damage on 11th turn with blood artist doing the one damage I needed to do eight damage in total after killin one of his creatures.
2/3 :really fast and precise which is what I was hoping for and I did recieve . It was 7turns of steady damage and just over came his deck before any combos were aloud.
Match 4:: 2-0-2 :)
So what helped me the most was Tablet of the Guilds , Dreadbore , my simple combo with blood artist and falkenrath aristocrat. Also Rakdos's Return should have seen some play but I just forgot .. Don't ask me how but I did forget it was in my sideboard and against control it's huge to pull off. I also wish my Slaughter Games had more play to control the big creatures like thragtusk , angel of serenity and armada wurm..plus tamiyo and the new jace as well.
So I would like some feed back guys and also I made those changes because I need big board wipes to clear my field. Also hellrider is huge in my deck and will be a great addition.
I might add Stromkirk Noble but idk it's so weak and I'm just worried it will under perform since second turn someone can just throw down a conclave and I will be screwed. Idk I will think about it.

Elves and Murder
Slycne, 12 years ago
Slotted in some Arbor Elf to help the early curve, making it a lot easier to hit those T2/T2 Strangeroot Geist and Predator Ooze. Rancor comes in to start making threats earlier. Ultimate Price for Murder, though I moved that to the sideboard in case I need the unconditional.

could use more red removal. anybody know more XR burn spells?
Hazem, 12 years ago
Took a new Turn and turned the black into Green. Added in Rancor,Abundant Growth, Selesnya Charm, and Sigarda, Host of Herons. gonna keep Lone Revenant in the sideboard i might take out Fencing Ace and maybe add in some Gesit of Saint Traft if i can get some. i like Fencing Ace but they're so easy to remove so i might just keep them in sideboard against decks with less removal or aggro decks. keep the criticism coming it helps alot to improve. thnx :)

I've changed up the board a bit, and have realized that this deck is defiantly gonna rely on +1/+1 counters. I want to find a way to work in Rancor, maybe another hydra, and Increasing Savagery but I cannot figure out what to swap for those. If anyone has any suggestions or hints I would appreciate them and thank youGame Day

Placed 14th out of 42
Went 3-2
Round 1: Win (2-0) vs Splinterfright self mill
Round 2: Loss (0-2) vs GRW Midrange
Round 3: Loss (1-2) vs GW Midrange
Round 4: Win (2-1) vs Mono-Red Aggro
Round 5: Win (2-0) vs GW Humans (flicker)
I ran up against Thragtusk in round 2 and 3, I had to mulligan a bunch and keep pretty bad hands in 3 of 4 of my losses. I have since added more Thrag-Hate since the tournament. I added Appetite for Brains and more Slaughter Games to my sideboard. Centaur Healer + Restoration Angel is another problem, but not quite as common.

GPT and Game Day
Slycne, 12 years ago
Deck performed admirably, would have made top 8 in GPT, but not enough people showed up. I did make Top 4 in Game Day. Knight of Glory was my surprise highlight. These guys just went to town all day.
Changes to mainboard
+2 Negate - Exalted has an inheirent problem in that it's very easy for someone to save removal and shut down my whole attack for a turn.
-2 Thalia, Guardian of Thraben - I think she's a better sideboard.
Changes to sideboard
+1 Palisade Giant - Lots of red deck wins in the local meta. Palisade Giant soaks up all the burn directed at me or my creatures and is a brick wall to most of the unleashes and stops Thragtusk from the midrange decks.
+2 Stonehorn Dignitary - Likewise, shut downs another aggro deck for a turn and leaves a nice body to help me in a race. While neither are humans, both the giant and the dignitary free War Falcon up to swing from being soldiers.
+2 Spectral Flight - I still think there are cases when I'll want them.
+2 Safe Passage - Just nicer to have instead of some other things.
-X Just pulled out a few random things that we're working, not relevant or I never sideboarded in.

I will be testing this deck next week as soon as I get the cards I need. And I'm still in the process of building this just fyi.

test subject?
DaBears, 12 years ago
as much as i love my eldrazi, im considering adding 3 or 4x Ludevic's Test Subject Flip in as another possible win con. with the amount of ramp i usually get more than enough mana necessary to transform it within 2 turns of being played. yes? no? any opinions are welcone

This deck is no longer being played. Please see my new The Mimeoplasm's Graveyard Gumbo for the current version. Infect was really brutal against a single opponent, but against multiple it pulled too much threat to be viable.
Multiplayer Testing
Mappew, 12 years ago
I think I've played around enough with this deck both here and one on one with a friend of mine. I need to start sending it out into the wild. There is a game shop nearby that has casual EDH on Sundays. Can't make it there today, but I'll try to bring it next week and see how it goes. I'm going to clear off the maybeboard and old comments and leave the tweaking until after a few games.
kirimi, 12 years ago
moved out 1 syncopate, 1 land, and 1 Thragtusk and put in 3 Elvish Visionary for card draw I put the spare Syncopate and Thragtusk into sideboard for now

Oh, pretty nifty thing I picked up the other day too. If you activate the Spawnsire of Ulamog's 20 mana cost ability, than you can play "All is Dust" because it's a Tribal Eldrazi Sorcery. As long as you resolve It That Betrays before All is Dust, you can gain control of all the colored permanents, including all lands, creatures and enchantments they may have on the field. Then if you resolve Emrakul the Aeons Torn afterwards, you'll gain another turn after you summon Emrakul. So you're pretty much looking at a straight shot at your opponent's (or opponents') life points and they will have no creatures or enchantments to block with, and even if they have a card in their hand that could counter your attack or render it useless, they can't play it because they have no lands to tap for mana to play them with. At this point in the game, the W is essentially yours. Enjoy!

2nd place at R2R Gameday (10/27/12) Losing only to first place holder who was running a fast paced Rakdos Demon deck
Update #1
FyreBlastkin, 12 years ago
I really need to test this deck out, because I expected nobody to ever comment on it. So, I did what Hidden_Blade recommended and made one more Rakdos, took out Rakdos's Return in favor of Thundermaw Hellkite. (Always loved that card. Pulled one from my first box. Shame I don't have it anymore. q_q Keep the suggestions coming. It helps a lot.

Round 1: Played a Jund deck I was going to beat him next turn, but then he pulled a bonfire of the dammed for 11 then swinged with avacyn pilgrim for game. Second match got slaughter
Round 2: Played a blue white reanimation, I got mana screwed both matches.
Round 3: Played Izzet deck, won both times.
Round 4: Played a golgari deck, won both matches.
Round 5: Played Rakdos deck, lost both times.
I concluded that the deck needs more kill, so I'm adding 3x Ultimate Price, 1x Abrupt Decay my friend let me barrow one, and 2x Tribute to Hunger.

FNM
stoopkid, 12 years ago
Played this puppy at FNM on 10-26-12 and went 2-1.
1st round I played was an izzet guttersnipe control deck. I went 2-1 against that. I got mana screwed so i couldn't get anything in our first game. but in the 2nd and 3rd I got Predator Ooze pretty huge and won.
2nd round I played a 4 color ramp, Epic Experiment Deck and went 0-2. He had no creatures in his deck so it was hard to get going fast enough.
3rd round I played against a rakdos deck. I won 2-0. Predator Ooze won the first matchup for me, and Stuffy Doll and ooze won the second for me.

Changes
sgtsouthpaw, 12 years ago
I changed this around a little bit to give it more consistancy than having 2 of everything. i like having one angel and one gisela. It kinda gives me different options of what i want to do to win. Did better after i changed it. Faced a lot of mirror decks and won them.
