Sideboard

Dimir-Control with a focus on winning the game off of Mechanized Production and/or Revel in Riches. If not, we can always win the game via The Scarab God and Liliana, Death's Majesty - I definitely wanted another win-con just in case our opponent has Enchantment removal.

I've always liked winning through "weird" or unconventional means and I think we have some really nice tools to do just that. Producing lots of Treasure tokens does a few things:

  1. Win us the game through Mechanized Production or Revel in Riches
  2. Fix our mana in case we miss a land drop (we normally don't)
  3. Worst case scenario, it generates a TON of mana for our other win-con of The Scarab God

The majority of the deck is counterspells, boardwipes and Treasure generation. Playtesting in proxy this actually does decently game one and has an even better game 2-3 thanks to our sideboard being entirely situational removal spells.

One thing I do get asked though is "Why the 4 copies of Gleaming Barrier?" Simple. It fits in a 2-drop slot, it generates Treasure (so we really don't care if it gets wiped to Bontu's Last Reckoning or even Fumigate) and it serves as a decent wall. 4 toughness is nothing to shake a stick at, and even if it dies, it helps us serve our main goal anyway.

Anyways, this deck is a TON of fun to play and I'm working on assembling it now, out of proxy. Let me know if you have any other suggestions or if you decided to play it yourself!
