Thousand Treasures

Standard UR (Izzet)

Sideboard

Thousand-year storm deck, but with more treasure tokens. Brass's bounty is silly, Pirate's Pillage is where it's at. You can use it to bridge the gap between 4 lands and getting down the Storm, or cast it with storm down to draw possibly a lot more than two cards. Otherwise the deck is fairly similar to other thousand year decks you may have seen. Treasure map is just one of the best cards in standard, and it can help us get to our big storm turn if we don't need to draw more cards with it. Play cantrips, resolve Storm, cast an opt, anticipate, pirate's pillage, a couple more cantrips, win off of a lightning strike. We don't have much interaction, but we can remove a creature here and there with shocks, beacon bolts, or fight with fires to make sure we don't die before going off. And if you think they will cast some big threat like Doom Whisperer, hold up a Spell Swindle - if you get them with it, you'll probably win, and if you don't, just cast any instants you have to dig further into the deck, like insight or mission briefing on anticipate.

You can play 1 or 2 Brass's Bounty in this deck if you really like the card - I think Pirate's Pillage is the real winner here, but I could be wrong. Try it out if you want.

We can side in Fiery Cannonades, more Beacon bolts, or more Shocks against aggressive decks like Boros or Goblins, whatever you may need. We also have Negate against other spellslinger-y decks, Sinister Sabotage as a catch-all sideboard counterspell, and Silent Gravestone to fight with the endless value reanimation loops of Golgari.

Edit again: After a good amount of testing, turns out this deck really needs Blink of an Eye in the main to have a chance against decks running Ixalan's Binding or Conclave Tribunal. There's a 4th in the board for those matchups, and if you are playing against a deck where they seem unnecessary, board them out for your sideboard hate. The good news is, Blink is rarely a dead card in any matchup.

Also, swapped a beacon bolt and an extra shock in the board for sorcerous spyglass for the golgari matchup - if you play it and they dont have a planeswalker in hand then name big vraska, it kills your thousand year storm and that's no fun.

Edit after a few weeks: So I've been playing this deck a lot and have decided to switch up the sideboard a bit. The main deck remains the same. The changes:

-3x negate --> 3x unwind, we have plenty of things to do at instant speed, and if we keep up for unwind, then whether we cast it or not we can still activate a treasure map and anticipate at our opponents end step, or cast a chemister's insight, or whatever.

3x silent gravestone --> 3x sentinel totem, I was always a little unsure which one would be better and after a lot of testing im pretty sure we're more interested in keeping mission briefing in the deck than the upside of silent gravestone in all the matchups where we want graveyard hate. With totem we can still use mission briefing just fine, since the totem is more of a threat to exile in response to a graveyard interaction than something we use immediately.

2x sinister sabotage --> 2x disdainful stroke, in any matchup where we need a hard counter to a creature spell it's one that costs 4cmc or more, making disdainful stroke equivalent to counterspell. The surveil 1 is not worth a blue mana.

That's it - the deck still plays pretty much the same since the new sideboard cards are pretty much the same as the old ones, just slight tweaks. Let me know if you think any other card is just better than something I'm running, and I'll consider it.
