Caligula, are you sneaking things onto the feature queue again? I know I sure didn't haha. I wish I could get master of cruelties. I had him in when the deck was b/r. It's such a nasty card haha.

Thanks, BearForce_02! Glad you like it. :)

Good call on the Blood Artist , Saljen. That + Athreos could make for some huge nukes. I really should be running Sanguine Bond , I can tutor it easily. The lack of life-link in this deck is what's holding me back on that.

I really want to get some removal in here, but I'm having difficulty finding the golden ratio with my apostles. I think I might opt for more removal via demons like Havoc Demon etc.

I'm gonna do some thinking about the removal methods, but I'm throwing in Blood Artist and Sanguine Bond now to see how it plays out.

You ninja'd as I was replying, BearForce_02 lol. My reply to Saljen applies to your comment a bit as well.

=) I mayyy have snuck it on a couple a times ;)

Why not just run a copy of No Mercy for some removal luhls

You used to have Dictate of Erebos in here which should stay with all the shenanigans going on in here

Haha sorry I just kept remembering what I was about to type! But yes, Suture priest will help gain you life and kill them off if you combo is with your commander.

If you need some removal, Reaper from the Abyss , Eater of Hope , and Desecration Demon do wonders. Not to mention, the glaring omission of Grave Pact . That card would keep everyone's board clear when you decide to summon a demon.

Patriarch's Bidding and Rune-Scarred Demon would do well in here as well.

I would steer away of under costed demons with downsides (like Master of the Feast ). These cards are nice, but if you're going to cheat in a demon, why not make it a 6+ cost demon so it's worth cheating in? Less downsides and more powerful demons.

After looking at your deck, I have to say that I love the idea a ton. I wanted to make an apostle deck the second I saw that card spoiler-ed, but never found the right place for it. This is the right place. I may be throwing a similar deck to this together, I put it together on this site at least:

Demon Circles is the deck link for the version I put together, dunno why it didn't link in the last comment.

You sneaky bastard, Caligula. I wish it notified me when you did so I could be keeping count haha. I was playing League and alt+tabbed out on a loading screen to check this place and saw it there. Made my day though :D Oh, dude. We missed Grave Pact . It's like a better Dictate of Erebos .

Thanks a ton for mentioning Grave Pact , Saljen and Desdur. I'm gonna be working in Reaper from the Abyss and that for sure. To be honest, Master of the Feast was in there so I could do some group-hugging if I wanted to. I'll take it out for the purposes of this list, but if I ever build this, that guy is certainly holding a place somewhere. :P

Eater of Hope seems like it'd be nice after a Thrumming Stone , but I don't know how I feel about its cost. 2 creatures and 3 mana is an awful lot for a Doom Blade . Desecration Demon was in here, but I dropped him to make some room for others. It seems like he'd be one of the least picked out of the deck once I sac 6 apostles.

No Mercy could be cool, but I feel like people would just refrain from attacking me. I can't really see its removal being used to often unless someone didn't notice me play it. Could be useful in French EDH though. That's the 1v1 format.. right? lol

...So, it looks like I have to tag you as Caligula 'cause some sly guy decided to name his deck in your likeness. Makin' me type more and such.

Hahah Dave yeah I've put it up a couple of times for you. Just because this is a legit edh deck that deserves all the love.

Yeah I was thinking 1v1, No Mercy would just be funny because they'd pretty much be forced to watch you build a big demon army haha

And yeah! Some guy half assed a Edh deck and did Caligula's name no justice. It's an outrage!

You play league! Sweet add me up man (MeetReality) , lol I usually play a couple games a day, just been caught up in star Trek online lately =P

I added you now. I play mostly ARAM :)

And thanks a ton, dude! It's actually almost made it to the "tops" page. Pretty stoked about that.

Can't wait to see it there. I know it will be eventually. :D

Yeah ARAM is where its at

It'll get to the top soon enough!

Have you considered Shirei, Shizo's Caretaker ?

May 15, 2014 5:19 p.m.

Dave says... #14

That's definitely worth consideration, brokendwarf. I'm not sure what I'd take out though. This deck's currently 102 cards, so I actually would like to cut 2. I just can't decide what.

May 16, 2014 12:51 a.m.

Well, to cut two should be easy.. Just cut out the two retardedly expensive tutors; Grim Tutor & Imperial Seal ...

May 16, 2014 5:20 a.m.

Dave says... #16

You're right, Metroid_Hybrid. But I want to keep them in the list so it can be theoretically as best as it can be, even though I may not be running those cards on paper.

May 16, 2014 10:56 a.m.

You have 102 cards in this deck. for it to be a legl commander you need to have only 100 including the commander.

May 16, 2014 1:33 p.m.

Dave says... #18

Thank you for pointing that out, FaustHarbinger. If you read above, I'm actually discussing which two cards to drop.

Since Athreos, God of Passage isn't in the deck list, you actually have 103 cards, just saying. also, athreos is a lot scarier in standard. in EDH, 18 life is 18 life to let all the apostles just die, I could do that twice with no life gain and not care. in standard, let all the Shadowborn Apostle go to the graveyard and you only have 2 life left. I do love the deck idea, but it just isn't all that scary.

Haters gonna hate

This deck performs admirably.

May 17, 2014 12:50 p.m.

Dave says... #21

Ah, my bad on the 103.

Athreos seems like he'd be perfectly fine. 18 life may be -just- 18 life if everyone is at 40, but how long do people honestly stay at max life for? Not long in my experience. I don't give a damn if I don't get my apostles back; I'm getting a Pestilence Demon or Havoc Demon something similar to clear the board with after. It's a synergy, not a wincon.

In standard, the apostles aren't a threat because of the presence of control. It's too much of an investment to sac 6 creatures for 1 demon. In EDH, there isn't that problem because we have draw engines and a ton of tutors.

I appreciate the criticism though. :)

Aaaaaaaand we've hit the "Tops" page. Caligula

May 18, 2014 4:38 p.m.

Caligula says... #23

w00t w00t. Tops is good!

It can do better still, hell's yeah.

Oh boy, I put together my superfriends deck today and switched out a few things (Untill I can aquire some of the pricier cards) and almost made it like a fog/creature kill deck.

Bahah, Super fun to play :P
