Murder > Go for the Throat > Doom Blade

Why is Murder better? I think the three mana isn't as flexible, although it's not limited. Do you think I should just run 4 Murder 's?

Murder doesn't discriminate. You already have cards that require double black, so black is a primary color in the deck. I would run 3 Murder s and 2 Go for the Throat s in the main (-1 Vapor Snag or Gilded Lotus ) and keep the Doom Blade s in the side to swap out the Murder s for if you play against a nonblack deck.

Yeah, that sounds feasible, and more logical, but do you think it's a good idea to run 1 Gilded Lotus ?

You don't really need the Gilded Lotus . It's more of just a mid to late game mana fixer for situations for things like getting out Tamiyo, the Moon Sage if you end up only getting out one blue source somehow.

Or to get out Nicol Bolas, Planeswalker 2 turns earlier, but you would need to not miss any land drops, play the Gilded Lotus turn 5, and have Nicol Bolas, Planeswalker in hand for turn 6. So that wouldn't happen too often.

I would cut out 2 Mountain for a Sulfur Falls and an Island . Nicol Bolas is your only red card in the deck and you're much more likely to miss a blue mana source early in the game than not draw a red source by the time he's playable.

Overall I like it, nice to see planeswalker control that isn't Esper.

Heh, Esper isn't so bad, but thanks for the comment. I had the splash of red in mostly for my sideboard, but I could try playtesting it with your suggestion.

Interesting deck. I will +1 it just for trying to use Bolas. On a side note, Go for the Throat > Doom Blade > Murder I agree with you, not that other guy.

Thanks for the comment and rate, and yeah, Murder is a lot more limited than it appears due to the extra one mana. I'm hoping to see a nice replacement in Ravnica. I made the deck just for Bolas because he is so fun to use, and plus, planeswalker control is too good.

Also, ever thought of an alternate win condition against other control heavy decks?

As for red in the SB,, if Pillar of Flame is there for zombies maybe try out Sever the Bloodline and see if it works? May knock off 2 or more of the bastards for 1 card. As for proper artifact hate that's a different story. Duress helps, so you're already good there.

If you're going to play Mana Leak , play four. Also, Pillar of Flame is good against enough decks that it should probly be mainboard. It kills Delver of Secrets  ^Flip , mana dorks, Strangleroot Geist , and card:Geralf's Messenger, and how many decks are there that don't play at least one of those creatures?
