The plan is to stall out the game as long as possible while laying down copies of
Karma
until you play an
Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth
and their manabase kills them.
Approach of the Second Sun
is in there as a secondary win condition.
Karma
is the main wincon, used in conjunction with
Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth
. If your opponent runs
Swamp
s then that just works out better for you and you can start doing damage early. You either want to wait to drop
Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth
until you can 1-shot your opponent, or if you can get a copy of
Personal Sanctuary
on the field.
The creatures in the deck work as a stalling strategy to hold you over against creature-based decks.
Order of the Stars
functions as an early drop capable of blocking single creature attacks. Card: Stuffy Doll, while expensive, acts as a solid blocker who's ability deters your opponent from swinging with big guys.
Silent Arbiter
can shut down swarm strategies such as
Empty the Warrens
Storm, Elves, CopyCat, ect. If you have a
Stuffy Doll
on your side of the field with a
Silent Arbiter
, you can effectively stop all creature-based damage until your opponent finds a solution for either creature. You can also cause a pretty hard lock on your opponent, especially against burn or
Grapeshot
-based storm decks by enchanting your own
Stuffy Doll
with a
Pariah
.
Oblivion Ring
,
Holy Day
,
Path to Exile
,
Cast Out
,
Pacifism
, and
Wrath of God
are all there to deal with threats and stall the game out as long as possible while you either build your combo or wait for a second
Approach of the Second Sun
.
Idyllic Tutor
is there to help you find any part of your combo you may need, or something to help remove a quick threat with an
Oblivion Ring
or similar effect.
In the sideboard, we have
Disenchant
for Affinity or pesky enchantments,
Stony Silence
for Affinity or Restore Balance,
Suppression Field
to slow down crazy combos and a
Pacifism
because I wasn't sure what else to add.
Renewed Faith
and
Cast Out
are included for two reasons;
Renewed Faith
can be helpful against burn decks and
Cast Out
can help adding more O-Ring effects, or both can be used for their cycling effect if you have an opponent who has heavy enchantment hate and
Approach of the Second Sun
becomes your most viable wincon.
