Theme and Goals

Overview:
A Green-Black infect deck for casual play. This is a kitchen table deck based on the cards I have and ones I could find locally for a moderate price. This deck is a sibling to my Hope You Were Vaccinated (G/U) deck, with which it shares just under half of its cards. The G/B deck was built first.

--> 64 cards in current form. Need to fix that.

Deck Plan:
This deck's plan is to use cheap infect creatures and creature buffs to win quickly, before the enemy can get their game plan going.

Categories and Cards

  • Blight Mamba -- The Regeneration is occasionally handy.
  • Contagious Nim
  • Cystbearer
  • Glistener Elf -- The most efficient one of the bunch. Love to see this in my opening hand. I'd run a full play set if I had another.
  • Ichorclaw Myr -- Buffs when blocked. Helps to keep it around and does a larger dose of permanent damage to whatever stood in the way.
  • Plague Stinger -- Flies. This is the other one I want to see as soon as possible.
  • Rot Wolf -- Can provide a little draw when it gets blocked. Doesn't happen often.
  • Giant Growth -- Cheap, instant speed buff. So versatile and all the more relevant with Infect.
  • Might of the Masses -- Gives at least +1/+1. If you manage to get more than 3 creatures out at the same time before the game is over, it is better than Giant Growth, but that's not going to happen often.
  • Prey's Vengeance -- +2/+2 on two consecutive turns isn't quite as good as Giant Growth in my opinion, due to the chance that no creature is available on the second turn and the fact that it is cast in the second turn during Upkeep rather than Combat. Also, sometimes the extra 1 buff could make the difference, saving a creature or finishing the game this turn. Still, quite good.
  • Vines of Vastwood -- Saves a creature from most targeted removal and gives a respectable buff. What's not to love here?
  • Doom Blade -- Creature Removal
  • Fear -- Evasion
  • Fog -- Damage Prevention
  • Vines of Vastwood -- Creature Protection
  • Withstand Death Creature Protection
