Brimaz, King of Tokens

Standard* RW (Boros) Tokens

Sorcery (1)

Just made a quick deck around how I'd like to play Brimaz if he wasn't so expensive. Any advice is appreciated!

Brimaz, King of Oreskos

The King. Nuff' Said. Constantly making tokens so why not take advantage of it.

Young Pyromancer

Probably my favorite creature in standard. synergizes great with Molten Birth .

Scion of Vitu-Ghazi

Another source of tokens and a second populate effect. Might be removing for Ogre Battledriver.

Purphoros, God of the Forge

Two damage to opponent every time a token spawns! That is two damage every time Brimaz, King of Oreskos attacks or blocks, 4 damage every time you cast Molten Birth and 6 damage with Elspeth, Sun's Champion +1 ability. Could also turn Rootborn Defenses into a burn spell. Used more as a enchantment and mana sink since it will never become a creature.

Precinct Captain

If I can swing through unblocked this will also produce tokens. I may remove this since it cost WW and i don't have a great way of getting him though without using burn.

Elspeth, Sun's Champion

As said before, synergizes great with Purphoros, God of the Forge using her +1 ability. Nothing in our deck has over 4 power so her -3 deal with some larger threats.

Assemble the Legion

Not sure if this will be too slow in this deck but will need to test and see. Seems great in theory.

Molten Birth

Two tokens for 1RR aint bad + the possibility of returning the spell to your hand. With Young Pyromancer out that is three tokens, with Purphoros, God of the Forge out this is 4 damage to opponents and with Ogre Battledriver out these become 3/1 haste creatures. Can also help stabilize a board of non-tramplers.

Rootborn Defenses

Since Boros Charm is used for it's invulnerability 90% of the time, Rootborn Defenses is far superior in this deck since you also populate for 1 additional mana. Great agent board wipes other than Drown in Sorrow. Might add in Fortify to the sideboard to combat black decks

Magma Jet// Warleader's Helix

Magma Jet for possible early creature clear and to help filter my early draws. Warleader's Helix is helpful with the large burn and extra life gain.

You should really have green. green had so much more to offer you with Advent of the Wurm, Voice of Resurgence and Selesnya Charm. I would splash red only for assemble. pyrphoros arent isn't worth it unless you haclve Prossh lol he is a bit slow. Pyromancer is aight but why use burn spells to trigger him? hell use fucking call on the conclave, or advent of the wurm, or fucking selesnya charm and make a bazillion tokebs in one turn lol. Then lose when your opponent top decks a Ratchet Bomb lol no jk but seriously I like your idea but needs a speed boost.

+1. for this deck i think the versatility of Boros Charm might actually be more useful. And Legion's Initiative + Purphoros, God of the Forge = win.

Emyr Wont Legion's Initiative get rid of all tokens?

Pretty sure he meant Assemble the Legion. As for the deck, keep it red white. I am pretty sure that Jagishamesh is trolling or possibly was drunk when they posted judging by the lack of spelling and the reference to non standard legal cards. I think that boros charm will end up doing more for you because of the huge alpha strike potential, that and I find that more often I am using the deal 4 as a finisher more than the indestructibility.

Great stuff.

What about Wake the Reflections ?

Call the deck, "Simba's Revenge." Otherwise it looks badass..

yes Legion's Initiative will kill the tokens, but when you have even 3 or 4 creatures on the battlefield the triggers could easily kill your opponent when combined with the fact that those creatures will all be attacking that turn and maybe making more tokens. Plus Legion's Initiative offers resistance to control and even if it does nothing else it will boost all your red and white creatures in either power or toughness.

I will find myself a brimaz one day T_T...... (+1)

Cool idea. Some draw spells like Wild Guess may help too. Triggers young pyromancer and gets you more options.

Pterozacktyl - Thanks for the advice. However, since you are basically just replacing Gamble and a card you may or may not want with two different cards you aren't really gaining card advantage. Magma Jet will let me scry the next two cards for my future draws rather than having to discard for a gamble of better cards. I'd rather just not draw Gamble in the first place.

February 11, 2014 11:01 a.m.

Pterozacktyl I could see Gamble helping to get rid of redundant legendary spells but it could just as well be a dead card

February 11, 2014 11:08 a.m.

That's true. It actually works well with magma jet so you know when to play something like wild guess. Just an idea for card advantage but I definitely see where you're coming from!

February 11, 2014 2:32 p.m.

Not sure why i kept refering to gamble... meant Wild Guess.
