Because Prowess

After I saw Managorger Hydra in action just once, I fell in love. A few other favorites came to mind, and soon this deck was born. All of the creatures have prowess (except for Den Protector), allowing the deck to deal maximum damage with practically any spell.

Monastery Swiftspear has had a place in my heart ever since she was printed. As a 1-drop with haste, she starts the game strong. Seeker of the Way follows in her footsteps, but his lifegain ability improves our game 1 matchup against aggressive decks, especially Goblins. Next up is Monastery Mentor, Young Pyromancer's Dad. He nets extra value off of every noncreature spell, and if he's not dealt with quickly, things get very ugly. Then there's Managorger Hydra, whose prowess triggers on every spell, including your opponent's, and lasts permanently. Just sick.

Because Value

We don't want to fall into the pit trap of most aggro decks-- the dreaded top-deck mode. Here's how we keep our head (and our hand) above the water.

Den Protector may not have prowess, but he's totally worth it anyway. Besides being able to recover burn spells, downed creatures, or CoCo as Eternal Flipness, he has the benefit of making your opponent worry about Deathmist Raptor. If you play carefully, you can provoke misplays that will give you an upper hand.

That being said, the other Valuetown card is Collected Company. Every creature in the deck is a legal target. Coming soon to the end of a turn near you!

Because Aggro

The other spells are here for more prowess triggers and late-game reach. Atarka's Command Gives all of your creatures +2/+2 at instant speed, which is just friggin bonkers. Lightning Strike clears blockers or targets the good ol' dome for lethal. Titan's Strength interacts favorably with Seeker of the Way and Den Protector, while letting you scry.

Honorable mention here to Stoke the Flames as an alternative to Exquisite Firecraft . It's whichever is more your style :)

Sideboard

Valorous Stance vs control and ramp.

Seismic Rupture vs aggro.

Hallowed Moonlight vs CoCo, Deathmist Raptor, tokens, and anywhere else you notice it's good.

Dromoka's Command for against creautre-heavy matchups and enchantment decks.

Become Immense for funsies! I figure I'm dumping lots of perfectly good delve fuel, so why not. And on Den Protector or Seeker of the Way ...

Thanks for Reading!

As always, input and feedback are welcome. Hope you enjoyed! (I can't add the customary "thanks for putting up with my crazy" because this really isn't all that crazy...)
