First draft b/w constellation, primary goal is slowly bleed the opponent, going in for a finish with an online athreos or herald of torment.
This is my first real foray into standard, I'm aware of the current decks but have little idea of how it actually plays out. This deck itself is mostly still conceptual, I've playtested it all of once.
Brief card primers:
Athreos: Why this deck exists, one-man card advantage engine. No ways to kill our own creatures, but plenty of them are expendable once they hit the board, especially trading for a bolt to the face. Very easy to bring online.
Grim guardian: Solid butt, constellation triggers all over the place. Puts a little more pressure on the athreos choices.
Underworld coinsmith: Gets us some life back, and uses it to bleed those last few points. Also double devotion for athreos.
Nyx-Fleece ram: Stops aggro hard with incidental lifegain to fuel our heralds and connections.
Trawler: The only non-enchantment permanent in the deck, value increases immensely when it hits a board with an athreos.
Spiteful Returned/Herald of Torment: That extra reach. I don't think I'll usually be playing either of these on curve, saving them for bestow, although returned into athreos is not a bad start on the play.
Scarhide: Can get a few points of damage in early, is mostly there as a decent enchantment creature that can be an incidental 1-drop.
Brain maggot: Loads of fun with athreos, all that needs to be said.
Dictate of Erebos: Again fun interactions with athreos, my favorite of which is turning an (online) spare athreos into "Target player sacrifices a creature and pays 3 life".
Sideboard at this point is a pretty random smattering of removal, I probably should have more mainboard but don't really know what to cut.
