Built on a whim on MTGO, 3 days later I can honestly say it's the most fun deck I have ever played with. If you are a fan of casual magic, specifically in the Modern format, this deck is perfect.jiujitsuheyzues, 11 years ago

I now know where I want this deck to go and what I want it to be. Help and advice are always welcome. New combos or strategies I could be running are greatly appreciated!
Moar enchantments

So I was running into some consistency issues and thanks to the comments I decided to focus on the enchantment and card draw route to really pull the planeswalkers quick. Please note the recent changes.

Deck Update:

-2 Duskmantle Guildmage, +2 Jace, Memory Adept.
I'm trying to stay away from the 1HKO Duksmantle-Mindcrank combo, so it seemed rather weird to have half of the combo in the deck at all, even if it did convert my substantial mills to damage.
I'll need to test it and see whether Jace is better, but he seems like a much bigger bomb.

Casual Testing
Sodaguzzler, 11 years ago
Did a bit of casual testing with friends. Seems to work really well. Even with opponents' ideal hands, I was still able to surgically remove threats both in-hand and on the field with no trouble. Testing Notes: - Jace gave good card advantage while making aberration bigger, and Mogis took pressure off the board. - Specters are great for whittling people down. - Dreadbore being cheaper > being instant, especially for planeswalkers since i can't stop their effect once its' on the board anyways. I'd rather counter, but D-bores are a better option if I can't. - Went down to 1 mind grind mainboard, and no Slaughter Games mainboard. Have yet to actually need them, but I suspect I will eventually so they'll stay side. - Haven't had a chance to test Illness vs. Elspeth, but worked beautifully vs. Pharika. I'll bet it's just as good. Overall a good test run. More coming later as I acquire new ideas and suggestions.
Change in the Wind

The deck has moved in a new direction. focusing on fast paced creatures with a little burn. Due to this comments have been reset.
Niv-Mizzet, Former Roommate
Trisky, 11 years ago
I found that after introducing Chandra's Spitfire that the deck didn't like having to introduce such a high cost creature destruction spell target like Niv-Mizzet anymore. So I returned Wee Dragonauts to the deck in his place and removed the extra cards that boosted the total card count above 60. The result is a very cost efficient deck. Even the infinite combo that Niv-Mizzet enjoyed curiously couldn't claim to be comparable.
