Sideboard

I keep seeing things like "Red White Vehicles" and "Mardu Vehicles" and most of the decks run the same vehicles, pilots, and support cards. I don't like to follow set paths, so I said let's take color right out of it. I toyed around at one point with Barrage Tyrant and Demolition Stomper, and Lupine Prototype is always been an interesting pilot. I decided I would blend these ideas with another Devoid burn/ping deck except this one removed Blue altogether and replaced it with Artifacts like Vehicles and Key to the City.

Key to the City pulls the whole thing together if you get a full setup. Basically, crew a Consulate Dreadnought or Demolition Stomper with Lupine Prototype (plus another creature if you must, but Ruins of Oran-Reif should have made it a 6/6 so he doesn't need a co-pilot) and make it unblockable by discarding anything to Key. Then you can attack pretty freely for 7-10 unblockable damage, perhaps more depending on what your opponent has. Then you can use the Barrage Tyrant to pick up and throw both the Vehicle and the Prototype. If it happens to be a Stomper then it can attack and be thrown for lethal by himself, but either option works.

Cultivator's Caravan is a nice little mana rock that can be Crewed by Nettle Drone, Foundry Inspector, or Treasure Keeper and makes for a nice 5 damage fling after combat. The Nettle Drone and Molten Nursery provide extra pings of damage since every single thing is colorless, and a neat trick with Treasure Keeper is to throw it for damage, tap the Drone for a ping, then do the reveal from the Keeper's death trigger and you get to Cast a non-land spell for 3 or less without paying for it which means it will untap the Drone and give you another ETB trigger from the Nursery. It might have been Reality Hemorrhage or Touch of the Void which would net 8 or 9 total damage just from those abilities. It all adds up pretty fast.

If the ping damage game isn't strong enough then you can swap out the Nettle Drones or Molten Nurseries for Eldrazi Obligators which for two extra mana steal a creature and use it against your opponent by either crewing a vehicle or just attacking. Let's say you are up against something ridiculous like Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger. Take it, attack with it to mill 20 and either kill a chump blocker or deal 10 damage, then because it is colorless you could sacrifice it to the Tyrant and throw it at your opponent's face. I like it.

If you need to fight big Eldrazi with big Eldrazi or just need some higher places to go, then you can add in Void Winnower for maximum control (most big Eldrazi have even costs to them and couldn't be played or at least block) which can be dug out and cheapened with Conduit of Ruin, and Oblivion Sower is just a dirty play after you've used Crumble to Dust. Consuming Sinkhole gives you more face damage if you want to go all out burn/ping if you are up against some serious creature hate or burn mirror. Finally, Desolation Twin gives you two 10/10 bodies ripe for the throwing. Probably my favorite finisher if it comes to that.

That's it, a pretty straight forward idea that takes Vehicles down a different road. I've played around with different variations of this, but I think this is finally the Eldrazi/Prototype deck I was looking for. Oh, and it doesn't hurt that it's less than $25 so anyone can pick this up as a really fun budget deck. Probably not amazing for FNM, but maybe it's different enough to upset some records :)

Thanks for reading, I'd love to hear comments and ideas and as always don't forget to +1 if you like what you see.
