Modern Deck Help forum

I'm looking to get into mtgo and modern. I love agro decks, I am thinking about burn or merfolk. I was also thinking about budget infect taking out ink moth nexus. I realized that wouldn't work though. Which deck do you think is better? Or do you have any decks that I haven't mentioned that are agro? Please comment below thank you guys!

WG Bogles is a good 'budget' deck too. Can be faster than burn / merfolk too :)

I only play 'paper' magic. I can't imagine paying again for virtual cards which are nothing but images. I'd have the feeling of being robbed ahah! But that's just my opinion and I mentionned to this newcomer that Bogles is also a pretty 'cheap' option :)

well its not cheap or 'cheap'. thats the point. paper bogles is at like ~950 and its like 360 tix in modo. really no budget decks.
RW heroic is budget in modern. it can be done in less than 200 in paper and im pretty sure wayyyy under 100tix in modo

But does it stand a chance? I don't think so. I'd prefer by far investing money ONE time in a deck that I like and know has a chance if I ever wanna go competitive rather than some junk deck that's clunky and half the price.
Again just an opinion don't get all salty on me :>
PS : I'm in Europe so it's a bit less expensive here and a deck for 600 - 700 in modern is budget to me.

Ah so now Bogles is bad. I have nothing to to say to anymore Sir. You're the one recommanding a certain 'Boros Heroic' thing :)

i have bogles in paper, its tier2 for a reason. it doesnt win shit above fnm lvl except for the occasinal outbreak. RW heroic is great in the modo budget area, you have obviously no idea what you are talking about. you use "junk" as a term to describe a cheap, bad deck in modern. thats so wrong on so many lvls as junk has a price tag of 1500-2k and is played twice as often as bogles. duhhh
just dont make some new guy pay 100$ for some unplayable mess. bogles with basics or what? lmao

Thank you so much for your sugestiones. I think i am gong to go with burn and spend a bit more. I might as well make a tier one deck and not just make tons of budget tier 2 decks. Now I have a new question.
Which burn deck do you think is better? Anaya or Mardu or Boros burn? I like Boros and Mardu the most because I don't think destructive revelery and atarkas command are good enough just for sideboard.

Mardu gives you great sideboard cards I must say, but it comes with a drawback ;)
Rakdos Charm is a really useful card in a burn deck for example-> mode 1 : great against any graveyard shenanigans-> mode 2 : awesome vs affinity and the recent thopter/sword decks-> mode 3 : can get the last damage through, was especially good vs Twin (still good vs Kiki Chord but that's not a huge part of the meta). Both Boros and Mardu will give you Wear / Tear which is a powerhouse (even played it in my jeskai control and got to kill a T2 Blood Moon twice thx to it). More hate vs artifacts.
I have a Boros burn build that's I'm pretty happy with. It's more consistent (and also less expensive) because it's only 2 colors. Since burn decks have a low mana curve, it means if you have 3-4 colors you'll need much more fetchlands and shocklands. That means price goes up and your life total goes down :)

Stating that tier2 deck have zero chance above kitchentable magic is just dumb.
There is no way to know if a new deck is just useless, or just underplayed. Brutal new deck can appear out of nowhere in this tier system.
1# - Decks are sorted into "tiers" by the number of them being played. Not win/loss ratio, or any other more meaningfull option. (which is good if you want to know what you will have to face at an event) So its bad for knowing which deck is the strongest, sure there is some correlation (because people like to play strong decks), but brutally stong things like Lantern controll fall completly outside of the scope, by the virtue of "1 guy plays it" - !correlation =/= causation!
2# - Thanks to the lack of players playing (or deeply understanding) tier 2 decks, there is a real possibility that they can be improved greatly by addition of new (and completely overlooked) cards - for boogles there is Sage's Reverie for example.
Also calling Boogles weak is just stupid, you are speaking about a deck that has over 50% win cahcne against affinity, by racing them (with the correct build of course, and without the presence of Ethersworn Canonist)

I just realized that Jund burn is a thing. It looks super sweet, I looked at tons of deck lists and I made my own brew. What do you guys think? http://deckstats.net/decks/65638/494542-jund-burn?saved=1&lng=en

The build is cool but I'd advise you to create it on this very website and create a new threat. It'll clear things out and allow more people to consult it eventually.
I must say I like Searing Blood more than Searing Blaze for its consistency. It sure does 1 less damage to the creature but it still deals 3 to the controller (which, as a burn deck, is supposed to be your main target).
I think of it as being able to kill most early threats (Delver of Secrets Flip, Infect and affinity guys, Monastery Swiftspear and Monastery Mentor, and even Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker or Melira, Sylvok Outcast / Anafenza, Kin-Tree Spirit in case you're worried about combo decks). You usually don't run many lands in a burn deck so you're not always sure you'll be able to have a landfall trigger or be able to keep a fetch until you want to play Blaze. That's just the experience I had with those cards so I thought I'd let you know :)
Now I would personally remove 1 Skullcrack for a Lava Spike, for the mana it costs you. 3 Skullcrack should keep you pretty safe if you face a Soul Sisters / Toolbox deck with loads of lifegain G1. You can go Leyline of Punishment / Rain of Gore G2 ;)
Side note : Rain of Gore DOES NOT work vs lifelink creature (// Blood Baron of Vizkopa - Archangel of Thune). Leyline will keep you 'safe' but is more tricky to play if not in starting hand.

If you like aggro, this is my favourite sub 100 tkt list I've seen for a while:

Thank you so much frusciante7 I will do all of those things. Now that I realize I agree that searing blood is way better than searing blaze. One more question before I make the deck on this website. Do you think I should take out the rain of gores?

The only real expensive card in burn is Goblin Guide (1/4th of the budget) and fetches like Windswept Heath (another 25% of the budget), since you want to be naya colors. Other than that, it is fetches. 8 fetches and 4 guides are already 75 tix, can you build the rest with 25 tix?
Merfolk is a bit more widespread in terms of costs, but still 100 tix is a tough budget to work on. Those AEther Vials are a quarter of the budget. Playsets of Mutavault, Lord of Atlantis, Cursecatcher will take another 60 tix. Can you build the rest with 15 tix?
Your best option is probably boggles. Daybreak Coronet are now dirt cheap and Kor Spiritdancer, along with the four fetches are just 60% of the budget. Everything else should be dirt cheap.
