Sideboard

For the uninitiated, Phoenix decks revolve around pitching Arclight Phoenix and reanimating it with it's triggered ability.

I found that 6 discard outlets (4 Ledger Shredder and 2 Artist's Talent) have been enough without needing the playset of both. The Considers, Picklock Pranksters, and Lightning Axes also help getting me there. Most Phoenix lists run the playset of Treasure Cruise but I only run playsets of cards that I am looking for in the opening hand. I Considered running 3, but I only ever really need to cast the 1 for that mid-game boost. The 2nd usually feels win-more. With the freed up slots in the mainboard, I diversify the interaction suite. These and the sideboard interaction are local meta calls.

Phoenix is a well known deck in Pioneer. As such, graveyard hate is very common. Slickshot Show-Off in the sideboard is meant to blank hate in games 2 and 3.

For the cards I'm not running: The 6 mana commitment per turn for Hall of Storm Giants is insane to me. Maybe they know more than I do, but I hardly even get to 6 mana in the first place. No legendary creatures to get the discount means Otawara, Soaring City is a 4 mana Blink of an Eye. Arclight Phoenix already brings itself back anyway. I haven't tried Proft's Eidetic Memory so I can't really say.
