PRIMER

Lets discus the deck, card choices, additional color splashes and deck lists.

Land:

The mana base for this deck shold consist of 17-18 lands. In its simplest and most budget friendly form you can have 18 mountains and do just fine. The optimal lands for this deck are 12-14 mountains with 4-6 horizon lands eg: sun baked canyon or Fiery Islet. You could also opt to play sme number of Ramunap Ruins but if you have gotten to 5 lands you have most likely lost.

None creature spells:

Creatures:

The core beaters in this deck are 8 1CMC creatures along with 4-6 "[R][R] cost" creatures

1 cost

Monastery Swiftspear

the combination of haste and prowess makes swiftspear the best creature in the deck being able to attack frome turn one and remain a relevant topdeck that can deal 4+ damage the turn it resolves

Soul-Scar Mage

although lacking haste soul-scar mage has the same damage capabilitie as swiftspear. Soulscars second abilityis often overlooked but solves the weakness of red spells to answer large or indestructible creatures

Grim Lavamancer

A staple of red decks from the early days of magic Lava man is a respectable choice, though having more than 2 in your deck is not recommended. Lava man can exile 2 cards frome your graveyard to deal 2 damageto any target letting you grind out extra damage when out of cards or past blockers. Bacause lavamancer uses the gravyard as a resource it pairs poorly with Bedlam Reveler and well with Chandra's Incinerator

"2-3 cost"

Bedlam Reveler

while not actually being 2 mana reveler can usualy be cast for 2 by turn 3 or 4 due to its cost reduction. Casting reveler turn 3 or later is often best to take advantage of its draw ability 3 new cards is often enough to end the game. On top of drawing fresh cards bedlam reveler is an impressive threat having a 3/4 body with prowess, the 4 toughness combined with 8CMC lets reveler dodge both Lightning Bolt and Fatal Push. Al these atributs combined make Bedlam Reveler the number one choice for 2 cost threats.

Kiln Fiend

though lacking the card advantage and resilience of bedlam reveler, kiln fiend more than makes up for it in speed and damage potential. Coming down on turn two and attacking for 10+ damage on turn three makes kiln fiend the best threat in linear matchups such as tron, and storm which have little or no removal.

Runaway Steam-Kin

This combo oriented creature essentially reduces the cost of all your spells by R given you can get 3 counters on it. As an attacker steamkin maxes out as a 4/4 so it is necessary to make a few deck changes to facilitate explosive combo turns. That said it takes more setup and topdeck luck for steam-kin as compared to Kiln feind so i wold place it lowern on the list of threats.

Chandra's Incinerator

Simmiler to Bedlam Reveler this creature benifits from a cost reduction, unlike reveler this cost reduction is not pasive but requiers nonecombat damage to be delt to you oponant. In most cases incinerator will not be able to be cast untill turn 3 making slower than othor options. Though a little slow Chandra's Incinerator has impressive stats being a 6/6 with trample, and having the ability to deal damage to creaturs whenever you deal nonecombat damage to an oponant. Paring well with Soul-Scar Mage incinerator excelles in creature heavy matchups.

Abbot of Keral Keep

Abbot is a decent card, a 2/1 with prowess for 2 mana makes it a reasonable threat, adding the pseudo draw makes it playable. Unfortunately to take full advantage of its draw it has to be cast turn 3 or later making it excessively slow for the deck.
