Pauper Eggies: Engine Combo

This deck utilizes an artifact-based engine to generate infinite triggers and resources through a recursive loop. The Engine

The combo requires three components to execute:

Outlet: Ashnod’s Altar (sacrifices an artifact for {2} colorless mana).

Fuel: Myr Retriever (returns an artifact from the graveyard to hand upon death).

Reducer: Foundry Inspector or Etherium Sculptor (reduces the casting cost of artifacts by {1}).

The Loop: With a reducer on the battlefield, sacrifice Myr Retriever to the Altar for {2}. Use the death trigger to return another Myr Retriever (or another artifact) from the graveyard to your hand. Recast the Retriever for {0}. This sequence produces infinite colorless mana and infinite death/ETB triggers. Win Conditions

The loop is directed into specific payoffs:

Golem Foundry: Every artifact cast during the loop generates a charge counter, allowing for the creation of infinite 3/3 Golem tokens.

Tablet of Epityr: During the loop, paying {1} for each artifact entering the graveyard provides infinite life gain.

Operational Mechanics

Churn: Chromatic Star and Chromatic Sphere are used to filter mana and progress through the library to assemble the required engine pieces.

Interaction: Steel Sabotage and Dispel are used to manage the stack and board during the execution of the loop.

Recovery: Drafna's Restoration is used to move artifacts from the graveyard to the top of the library, facilitating engine reconfiguration. ( in sideboard for game 2)

Execution: The strategy centers on assembling the engine pieces and maintaining the loop until a win condition is fulfilled.

Overview Summary

Archetype: This is an artifact-based engine combo deck. It operates by "churning" through the library using cantrip artifacts (Eggs) to find the primary engine components.

Mechanical Core: The deck is built around a recursive loop involving Ashnod’s Altar, Myr Retriever, and a cost-reducer. This sequence allows for infinite mana generation and repeated enter-the-battlefield (ETB) triggers for Golem Foundry.

Win Conditions: The deck wins by funneling infinite loop triggers into board-state payoffs like Golem Foundry (for infinite token generation) or Tablet of Epityr provides a buffer of infinite life gain when necessary.

Operational Flow: Success depends on the ability to resolve engine pieces and navigate interaction. The deck utilizes specific cards for protection (Dispel, Steel Sabotage) and recovery (Drafna's Restoration) to maintain the combo against opposing disruption. Mainly for game 2 as game 1 I prefer to try to combo out.

Competitive Profile: Is questionable. It feels really high risk but streamlined in a way that I enjoy. I think with tinkering it could be something special

I prefer to use halimar depths turn 1 to stack the next couple turns or drop turn one Saprazzan Skerry depending on the hand, digging is the most important part of the deck In my experience so far and the deck can sometimes dig about 12 cards in in one turn which is kinda cool!
