If you don't mind spending a small bit of cash or trading, Hero's Downfall would do a lot better than Murder . Besides that, it is a cool deck.

Ehh never mind, I am just blind...

Haha, agreed Tobey8991. Hero's Downfall is absolutely superior but Murder is just so fun to cast. Why not both!

Forkbeard I'm not sure if you want to change this deck at all, but with Commander 2014 coming out there may be some cool editions you want to add.

I'll definitely be taking a look at the decks Tobey8991, undoubtedly there will be some gold to mine there. I'm already looking at throwing Arcane Lighthouse in every EDH deck.

I dig Sudden Spoiling, it can blow people out of the water. As for suggestions, Corpse Connoisseur is the BOMB. Tutors up some Gravecrawler perfectly and it can bring in whatever you need to reanimate.Butcher of Malakir earns zombie status for me since he is a Grave Pact that you can reanimate. Soul Manipulation is nice for being a counter spell and snagging a zombie back. I'm curious as to how Ghoulcaller Gisa is. I haven't gotten my hands on one yet, but she looks powerful. Here is my list: Grimgrin, Thraben's Reckoning

savagemt, good call on Corpse Connoisseur + Gravecrawler . Soul Manipulation is a great fit here too, nice one. Butcher of Malakir is a maybe for me...There's no denying the the power of Grave Pact effects.

As for Ghoulcaller Gisa, I have high hopes. Some friends & I played the vanilla C14 decks last night for funsies. One guy had a nice little combo going with Evernight Shade + Ghoulcaller Gisa - Pumped up the shade to sac to Gisa, cranked out 17 2/2 zombies in 2 turns thanks to the shade's undying. If Gisa goes unanswered the zombie horde will quickly spiral out of control. Hell, sacking 1 token with any of the zombie lords out will get you 3 more zombies on the field. Value!

Thanks flashter. Zombie tribal is awesome, I've had a lot of fun with this deck. Enjoy!

+1 for awesome deck!

What do you think of Soulless One and Gravespawn Sovereign? Not that you need any more shenans packed into this, but I could see either being fun in here =]

Thanks nevadathestate, much appreciated. I actually had both of those guys in here at one point. Soulless One seems decent, but ultimately he's a fatty with no real evasion and would just end up getting chump blocked. I found Gravespawn Sovereign was good on paper, less good in practice. Because I am usually sacking tokens to Grimgrin, I rarely got to take advantage of Sovereign's ability. Either that or an opponent would bolt him before he had a chance to snag a creature.

I laughed at your comment - This deck definitely has a high shenans count!

Diabolic Intent is a great tutor with a drawback I think your build can handle.

Ooh I forgot all about that tutor ZombieCat. Definitely a good fit, thanks for the suggestion.

Sidisi, Undead Vizier is going to fit in well with this crowd. Gravecrawler, you poor bastard.

I run Amulet of Vigor in my Grimgrin build. It helps with untapping him when he gets killed off (which he did. A lot.) and also to untap all the lands that ETB tapped. This is my build. Maybe you can find something in there to help you with yours:

That's a great idea canterlotguardian, I'm definitely going to throw the amulet in here, thanks. I checked out your deck - Looks evil! I like it! I tend to steer away from insta-win infinite combos in my decks so that I can keep my friends around but I respect the style for competitive play, +1.

Duuude! I have a similar Grimgrin deck, but I can never get it going :( I knew I needed Minamo, School at Water's Edge, but this list made me realize all the great untap mechanics I'm missing!! I don't have any of those! My friend wants to play EDH tomorrow for his birthday, but my last brew was a failure. Lest I reconstruct a cheesy, tired old build, I need to throw something solid together. What would you recommend as replacements for Lord of the Undead, Death Baron, and Syphon Flesh? I want to try out Obsidian Battle-Axe; I have Reanimate to stand in for Necromancy, and I definitely want to include Stitcher Geralf - frankly, I'm disturbed you did not include him. He built Grimgrin, after all!

Forkbeard says... #23

Ha, thanks DonnyLurch. I didn't notice that Stitcher Geralf was stitchin' up Grimgrin! Good eye.

Now...Onto your replacements. Both of the lords you mentioned are fairly clutch, but you could go for something like the new lord, Risen Executioner. As for Syphon Flesh, that's a tough call. The gravy is definitely the additional Grimgrin snack tokens. Maybe you could try Innocent Blood or something wacky like Infernal Offering?

Post your deck! Let's make it scary!

When I noticed your deck on top of the list :)

My version is a tad more 'competitive', and if I had any suggestions, it would be MORE TUTORS, unconditional tutors is what makes black the most consistent color in EDH, I would make room for Mimic Vat, as it can potentially over-abuse Sidisi, Undead Vizier.
