Realized I forgot to port my brew for the best tribe to this site, so we've fixed that. Changed it from Legacy to Modern while I was at it.

As for the build itself, it's your standard goblin tribal deck. Also, given the state of things, I legit don't know if it's better to build goblins for Modern or Legacy at this point so any advice there is especially appreciated.

Some thoughts:

  • Goblins is already a currently established top-tier deck in modern, so it'll be useful to see what cards that build is currently using, for fine-tuning your own brew. The current deck is here. Note that they splash black for some important key pieces.

  • Aether Vial is pretty important for a goblin deck to maintain a level of flexibility and speed. I've also seen some decks run Pyre of Heroes to great success.

  • If you're running Conspicuous Snoop, you really need to be running the rest of the combo, otherwise it doesn't have a lot of use. The combo is Conspicuous Snoop, Boggart Harbinger, Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker, and Sling-Gang Lieutenant (once Snoop is in play, you play Boggart to put Kiki on-top, and make infinite Snoops. Then, eventually copy the Boggart instead, and put Sling-Gang on top of your library for infinite ping-damage).

Appreciated, wallisface

And yeah, I realized I'd forgotten the Vials not long after posting this list but also figured it'd be worth waiting to see what people said. I was aware of what adding black does for the deck, I have a BR Historic build on Arena, but I was hoping to keep it monored. I guess it's just not as good so that's why I hadn't heard of monored modern gobz and there's no point keeping it such.

Suppose I'll be Thanks again.

TogbusPrime from a competitive standpoint, goblins only survive as a top-tier deck because they can support both an aggro and a combo (with the before-mentioned Snoop) build in a single deck - something that pretty much no other archetype can muster. I think playing into that strategy of being effectively “2 decks in 1” is what you’ve got to push to get far with the gobbo horde.
