This list was made to utilize Scourge of the Skyclaves to the best of it's ability. While lowering your own life to use Scourge, you might as well play Death's Shadow as well right? After that it's just a matter of lowering your opponents life total, and the Blitz style decks with Monastery Swiftspear and Soul-Scar Mage do that to great affect. So essentially this deck is a Blitz shell while having a mid to late game Death's Shadow or Scourge of the Skyclaves gives the deck greater resilience.
