This is a Standard Merfolk I been working on and off at some time. I just recently did some changes to the deck with the lands and adding Merfolk Branchwalkers. Currently the deck is basically get a bunch of Merfolk on the field and adding counters to them through Deeproot Elite, Kumera, and Hadena's Climb and then summon Tempest Caller for the finish.

I have Ghalta as a massive threat and easy to bring out with the powerup Merfolk so it also acts as bait for removal. I have Kopala to make the opponent to commit more mana to get rid of the Merfolk. River's Rebuke is another win condition or as a way to regroup. I have Blossoming Defense and Unsummon to save my creatures. I have Woodland Streams over Botanical Sanctum mostly due to the price and also it's barely an improvement over Woodland Streams. I have Scavenger Grounds for Scarab God and Torrential Gearhulk to get rid of their resources. Then I have 1 Desert of the Indomitable and Mindful just for cycling.

Sideboard is mostly for enchantment, flying, and artifact removal. I have Negate and Disallow to counter Control along with Shapers' Sanctuary to give me free draws while playing against Control. Silent Gravestone as additional insurance against Scarab God and Torrential Gearhulk. The Immortal Sun is for planewalkers.

I may put in Jadelight Rangers and putting Deeproot Waters back in to do a double combo with Deeproot Elite but I don't like how Deeproot Waters doesn't have an immediate effect on casting.

I'm looking for suggestions on improving the deck even more but I have modified this deck several times now.
