np, glad to help :) Since you did decide to go with that route, I strongly suggest adding Wrench Mind (probably in place of Brain Pry) and a couple Raven's Crime to your deck. Wrench Mind is often a two-for-one and is likely the best way to get the opponent's hand empty quickly in modern (plus it puts 2 counters on the Quest in one go), and Raven's Crime is a great way to turn dead lands in the late game into more discard or use your lands if you flood out. Also, you might want to consider playing Hypnotic Specter over Shimian Specter for the random discard effect, which is REALLY strong. It costs less and triggers the Quest too.

Thanks for comment! Brain Pry was actually in the autosuggestions, and I almost added it. Now I think I will, its better than pulling teeth. But I think Im to low on creatures... Maybe just add some one drop deathtouches? I do have inquisition of kozilek, but theyre in a another deck. Dash Hopes is kinda cool.

Welcome, you might want to have a look at some 8-rack lists, your deck is different but of a similar style. Some specific thoughts -

  1. Replace Compelling Deterrence with Vapor Snag.

  2. Replace Despise with Duress.

  3. Forced Fruition is too slow and your not running enough discard to make it worthwhile, Killing Wave could be a handy sweeper.

  4. Warped Devotion only really triggers on Compelling Deterrence (most of the time Unsubstantiate is a counterspell) and it costs 3 Brain Pry could be discard or draw.

  5. Mind Slash is again too slow, I'd suggest Inquisition of Kozilek but Raven's Crime combos nicely with Dakmor Salvage.

  6. Abyssal Nocturnus might be better replaced with Nyxathid or Inverter of Truth.

  7. Extirpate, Quest for the Nihil Stone, Augur of Skulls and Dream Salvage are cards worth considering, you will need Ghost Quarter in your sideboard atleast.

Suggestions:

Basically, you need to focus your strategy into something more cohesive. Ramp is fine and dandy, but you need dedicated removal too.
