Kasmina, Enigma Sage

Legendary Planeswalker — Kasmina

Each other planeswalker you control has the loyalty abilities of Kasmina, Enigma Sage.

+2: Scry 1.

-X: Create a 0/0 green and blue Fractal creature token. Put X +1/+1 counters on it.

-8: Search your library for an instant or sorcery card that shares a colour with this, exile that card, then shuffle. You may cast that card without paying its mana cost.

No words of mine can express the level of awe I am in right now of your hard-core commitment.

If your play circle allows wishboard beyond companions, my suggestion would be to Add Karn, the Great Creator to your deck. Its second ability will allow you to lock down opponents with Mycosynth Lattice or even retrieve your Planeswalkers from exile with Encroaching Mycosynth or give an opportunity to win with Commander damage using Luxior, Giada's Gift. Since a wish board is not part of an opening deck it gets around the companion limitation.

If at some point you choose to add more Uncommon Planeswalkers may I suggest Kasmina, Enigma Sage?

I hope these help. Happy Hunting!

I am going to assume you meant Kasmina, as in Kasmina, Enigma Sage? As in the "de facto leader" of the Strixhaven university who is secretly recruiting Planeswalkers before their sparks ignite, teaching them about the multiverse and then forcing their sparks to ignite through sheer trauma? THAT Kasmina?

Okay.

Horses and Ox you control have haste and vigilance.

+1 Create a 2/2 white Horse creature token.

-4 Create a 6/6 red Ox creature token

I mean, his spark DID just ignite? And not all powers are equal in the multiverse. I mean look at Dovin Baan. His magical powers were being able, and I shit you not, "to see the flaws in any design".

Yet he couldn't even see w̶h̶y̶ ̶k̶i̶d̶s̶ ̶l̶o̶v̶e̶d̶ ̶C̶i̶n̶n̶a̶m̶o̶n̶ ̶T̶o̶a̶s̶t̶ ̶C̶r̶u̶n̶c̶h̶ how his plans to working with Bolas were flawed and fruitless, or how his plans to escape wouldn't directly lead to him having his lifetime subscription to living being revoked.

What a dummy

Inexorable Tide is awesome.

Trying to find the balance between Planeswalkers and Poison. I think it's okay...

I'd like to fit Skithiryx, the Blight Dragon, Plague Stinger, and Kasmina, Enigma Sage, and Displacer Kitten in...

Ichormoon Gauntlet and Tekuthal, Inquiry Dominus are both ludicrously strong and warrant immediate inclusion the deck once prices stabilize. The easy cut is Kasmina, Enigma Sage which Ichormoon Gauntlet outclasses in almost every way. Tekuthal is much tougher to find a slot for and take a lot of careful consideration before I make the change. Lands have to change, with the amount of fetches and tri lands, colors are basically meaningless for this deck.

As for new planeswalkers printed in ONE, several of them have a lot of utility and will help plenty of decks out there, but the only one I am looking at is Koth, Fire of Resistance and the place he will have for him in Fireheart, my Chandra tribal deck. I like Nahiri, Nissa, Vraska, and Lukka as cards, but dont have decks that could take full advantage of them.

My thoughts on this set:

Melira, the Living Cure should've been able to remove poison counters even if the ability was similar to Leeches.

All Will Be One and Soul-Scar Mage together just turned a lot of cheap cards pinging all creatures on the battlefield into board wipes. And if you happen to have Bonfire of the Damned to cast you could end up winning the game.

I know the stories explained it, but I would love to had seen cards explaining how Lukka and Nissa were compleated. Though compleating Nissa kinda irks me because the story she was in in The Brothers War implied she survived the war with New Phyrexia.

Nahiri, the Unforgiving and Bladegraft Aspirant could end up vital in Boros reconfigure decks.

I like Corrupted. A good way to take advantage of poison without directly using it to win. Vishgraz, the Doomhive is the poison Commander we deserve.

Only sacrifice to draw a card?? 5 of the Sphere lands feel underwheling compared to the rest.

If you are building a oil counter deck for an eternal format, make sure to add Nesting Grounds to the deck.

In Superfriends decks, Ichormoon Gauntlet and Kasmina, Enigma Sage together could result in multiple -12 activations in a turn.

With Vraska a primarily black Planeswalker and Tyvar also a Planeswalker, it fits that she got the monoblack card. Anyone else notice the similarities between the ultimates of Vraska, Betrayal's Sting and Vraska, Relic Seeker?

As happy as I am Terramorphic Expanse got reprinted into Standard, I think Evolving Wilds would've made for a more flavorful choice.

Thrun was declared the last Troll BEFORE the Phyrexians rose. So what's with Oil-Gorger Troll?

Kaito, Dancing Shadow should be a staple in Etrata, the Silencer decks.

I think those are absolutely valid changes to make, and would likely make the deck stronger, however I, personally, do not want to play this deck on other peoples' turns. I think this deck takes long enough turns as is and to be forced to make decisions on whether to leave mana up or not. As is, I can tap out every single turn without regrets and spend my opponents turns paying close attention to what they are trying to set up or accomplish as well as getting some much needed politicking done to draw fire away from myself. That is entirely because of my playstyle and if you want to try this deck against your playgroup and add more instants for more interaction I highly encourage it. As for your card choices, I am not particularly sold on Kasmina, Enigma Sage myself yet and have only cast her twice in actual games, she has sped up the ult clock significantly both times, but still I am hoping for another similarly costed walker I like to come out and take that slot. Eerie Ultimatum's mana requirement is harder to hit than Primevals' Glorious Rebirth's Legend requirement is, so I'd probably cut that instead. Thanks for the input!!

This deck is cool! It's nice to see someone else with a full foil Atraxa Walkers deck lol The only opinion I have on it is that Kasmina, Enigma Sage, Primevals' Glorious Rebirth, and two of your lands should probably be counterspells of some sort. You have Eerie Ultimatum so Primevals' Glorious Rebirth is kinda redundant. If you really need to use mass resurrection twice in one game, you probably want to use direct spell/card recursion to get Eerie Ultimatum back instead. Kasmina, Enigma Sage basically does nothing for you but take up a card slot and let you scry (potentially) multiple times. You even listed in your reasoning that you don't use her ult much and without using her as a means to put a "better ult" on other walkers, you could just add a Counterspell to get rid of removal. Additionally, I'm betting with 37 lands that your late game can sometimes involve mana flooding in your card draws. 33-35 lands is more than enough to secure a decent chance at a 3 land opening hand and leaves room for control - which it looks like would be handy. Mana Drain, Force of Will, and Pact of Negation are all great picks since two are "free" and one GIVES you back mana for using it. Just a tip!
