The underrated cards of FRF

Standard forum

So, I am bored and drinking by myself, which is always a good choice... I was wondering what you guys think the underrated cards of FRF are.

One that I think definitely has room to grow is Alesha, Who Smiles at Death she is a bit expensive but in straight agro, great. especially in Jeskai

thoughts?

She will perform very well in draft i think and she was fine in sealed. The problem in standard is that she has 2 toughness, 3cmc, no haste, and no immediate impact on the board. i like her with maybe hornet queen? i just dont feel like she is aggressive or impactful enough to be played. just my 2 cents

I really thnk that Abzan Advantage is being undervalued as a SB card right now, esp if Abzan aggro continues to preform well

I also think that Ancestral Vengeance has a spot in a list to bring back Gray Merchant of Asphodel

almerican are you thinking mostly Courser of Kruphix hate? I guess it also hits Whip of Erebos/bee shennanigans and stuffs jeskai combo. All three revolve around just one enchantment-type card in the deck, so the best target is the only one.

Monastery Siege has the potential to be great but I dont think many people have fully realised it yet...

Wait... Isn't it a little alcoholic to drink with yourself? Lol ;)

I think Waste Not is underrated. I know it's not in FRF, but so is Dark Deal.

I feel like Mob Rule can be a great sideboard option for midrange decks running red as a way to end boardstate stalls.

Temur Battle Rage is probably the most underrated card in the set and IMO one of the top3 cards in Fate.

@jojja I completely agree. I love that card

Wait, I see Purphuros, Hornet Queen, and Whip of Erebos. Possibly a deck archetype? Also, 3 cards. 3 sides to a triangle.

ILLUMINATI CNFRMED

TheGrayMerchant you blew my mind such illuminati

Im in two minds about it but Temur Sabertooth can be a great pain to throw at some decks, but faster decks you might as well eat the removal for the good bouncing any big creatures will do you

Ill give a like to Temur Battle Rage though, great surprise butt sex. I love finishing with it in limited. opponent sees a vanilla 4 power swinging , sends a morph to chump and bam 6 damage outta nowhere

Agree on Temur Battle Rage. Played it in a mardu aggro last booster draft and it won me the games in all matches I won (I went 3-1). Another thing that I noticed is the value of enchantments in booster draft. Give a creature haste and unblockable for 1 red, give +1/+0 to all, give vigilance and an additional block (so strong with deathtouch) etc etc so many strong effects for 2-3 cmc creates so much pressure on the opponent. Not sure how they will play in standart, but I'm gonna test.

I think Wild Slash and Valorous Stance are my favorite cards from the new set. Both cards are very powerful for being uncommon and will see lots of play in both limited and standard.

I also really like Shu Yun, the Silent Tempest and really want him to be good.

I think people are underestimating Break Through the Line. With all the double strikers from Theros Block, this and a few power tricks should really mess up midrange's day. I just haven't had time to brew with it yet.

JMullen What about Break Through the Line with Become Immense and any of those double-strikers? Something to be had there perhaps. Xenagos, God of Revels might be able to play a part there as well.

Holy shit didn't think about Become Immense at all. If you combine it with Temur Battle Rage you don't even need double strike creatures. You can play a lot of small 1/1 1-drops, buff one of them mid/late-game after making them unblockable with Break Through the Line and swing for 14. Something like Anger of the Gods wouldn't be that much fun to play against tho.

Way ahead of you guys. I already build some deck that features underrated cards in FRF. Here are some of them:
