Vampire Change —Sept. 22, 2017

I swapped out the Legion Conquistadors for Bishop's Soldiers because I had way too many 3 drops.

Down 2 on Skymarch Bloodletter up 2 on removal like 2 more Walk the Planks or somthing. Also Gideon's Defeat a and/or Liliana's Defeat for sideboard

DistortionSlayer - Thanks for suggestions. There is already enough removal with 4 Fatal Push, 2 Walk the Plank and 3 Dusk / Dawn. The SB also has 3 Ixalan's Binding and 2 Vraska's Contempt. That's 9 removal in the MB removal 5 SB. Any more and this won't be aggro, it will be control ;)

DistortionSlayer I definitely appreciate the feedback! I will SB the Gideon and Lili removal if I see a lot of them in my meta. :)

You need to be playing Sanctum Seeker over Bishop of the Bloodstained. The extra toughness is nice for dodging Lightning Strike, which will be a big player in the format, and the difference between 4 and 5 mana could be 2 turns or more. Also, if you're swinging with the team by turn 4 or 5, the effect is virtually the same, plus you get it every turn. Also, without a cost-reduction effect, Legion Conquistador is too slow. You should swap in Legion's Landing. It's the same cost per body, but it ramps when you flip it. I would also play 3 Mavren Fein, Dusk Apostle. It's just too good, and you can always swing with it and trade if you have 2. Aethersphere Harvester is a weird choice, given that that's the one effect you have in spades. If you're looking for boardwipe protection, go with Bloodcrazed Paladin or Adanto Vanguard. A Copy or two of Ruin Raider would also suit this deck well, since the curve is low, you want to attack, and you have natural life-gain to counteract it.

The mainboard seems strong enough to me except for Sword-Point Diplomacy being strictly better than the conquistador. You need something to thin the deck for sure, but the sorcery will do a much better job of it, especially considering once you have one of the conquistadors the others become dead weight.

As far as side board goes, you're missing graveyard hate and artifact hate if you want to round it out, which Crook of Condemnation can at least fill one of those slots. I feel like Sorcerous Spyglass will also need to see play in the sideboard, but I can't rightly say where to make space for it. Nor for the defeat cards you were suggested earlier, though those are good too. Note that I don't count the 4 drop exile non-land card as artifact hate because there is much cheaper ways to get that, even if versatility is always good.

TheRedGoat - Legion Conquistador has been testing extremely well. It refills my hand with creatures, which is very important to any weenie aggro deck. Not sure why you would consider Conquistadors he pulls as 'dead weight'. I also do not want graveyard hate, as Dusk / Dawn brings all of my creatures back from the graveyard to my hand. Why in the world would I want to exile them?

I might add Gideon's Defeat to the SB since mardu vehicles is a thing that is still strong after rotation. During testing, he has been a particular annoyance.

Trust me, you want Legion's Landing over Legion Conquistador . Yes, you're refilling your hand with creatures, but they're all 3-mana 2/2's, which might as well be 1/1's by the time you can put them all on the board. Using those spots over another payoff card makes no sense. Legion's Landing gets you your first vampire for 1 mana, which gives you something to do turn 1. When it flips, which it should by turn 4, you can spend 3 mana for another body as many times as you want, or, if your hand isn't terrible, it ramps you 1 mana.

triproberts12 - I appreciate the advice but I've already tested with Legion's Landing and it did not make the cut. Legion Conquistador tested incredibly well in this deck. Don't get me wrong, I think Legion's Landing is a great card and I'm sure I will be making use of it somewhere... just not in this deck :)

After playing your deck versus my deck a couple times, I learned a couple things about it and I want to thank you for that. +1 from me.

However, I have to ask, why 4 Aethersphere Harvesters? Flying is great, but I don't think you need 4 of them. They get really cloggy in multiples and a lot of times you want to play basically anything else (Not Duskborne Skymarcher though. Harvester is strictly an upgrade) as opposed to it.

Not sure how I feel about Oketra in this build.

MangaVentFreak13 - I initially had 3 Harvesters and 2 Walk the planks but after testing against control and mardu vehicles, I found that the harvesters were my strongest plays. Having multiple on the board essentially gives all creatures haste and life gain, and even tokens crew it. Oketra wasn't in the original package either, but she synergized so damn well and I needed something with indestructible to deal with other gods. She is also a great dinosaur blocker.
