When Loyal Cathar returns then does it have undying and is a Zombie? I'm not sure how this loop would work.
Yes, when it returns it would fall under Mikaus ability, being as it is no longer human. What you'd do is sac the cathar to transform archdemon or keep him from damaging the crap out of you and then you get back the zombie as a 3/2 undying thanks to mikaeus.
It's a $1 and 10 cents thank you very much!
I like the idea but I really want the removal from Skirsdag Flayer and the Demons from Skirsdag High Priest.
Nice. +1
I think Falkenrath Aristocrat is totally worth splashing red for instead of Falkenrath Torturer.
There's also a great combo with Sun Titan + Fiend Hunter + (Sacrifice) which would pump your creatures infinitely. Also good for rez.
I have a similar version with an emphasis on tokens: Rum Sodomy and the Lash V1 (BRW Tokens)
More human version: Rum Sodomy and the Lash V2 (BRW Humans)
Would love input!
Yeah I know about the Sun Titan + Fiend Hunter combo but I am trying to flatten out the deck more so that the whole deck has synergy rather than waiting for one infinite combo.
I like Falkenrath Aristocrat as this deck was originally more of a red black vampire deck with a splash of white but i moved away from it as I focused on the human component.
Titan and Hunter have a lot of synergy imo. Archdemon of Greed is also very dangerous to use. You have to be careful when transforming him. Sun Titan is a more effective threat than Thraben Doomsayer (whose tokens really aren't that good unless you're running a token deck or Adaptive Automaton).
The reason why I really like Falkenrath Aristocrat is because Day of Judgment or any kind of board wipe is a huge threat to this kind of deck. She survives it.
I think you're too focused on the humans, there really aren't any cards that beef them up and they're fodder anyway.
This is really nice. I want to build it. +1.
@Strangelove I'm a Johnny not a Timmy so for me, it's all about the Humans! That said I am going to try it with Sun Titan as i want to see my friends face when I infinite combo. Thanks for the advice.
@squirrelking98 Thanks man, that made my day. :)
Two words: Onyx Mage
how do you get that colored name??
No prob, this is one of the best B/W builds on tappedout, and in my opinion, a great price for such consistency. The great thing about this deck is that there are so many ways to benefit from sacking humans that there will always be a way to win.
i have a similar deck. in my experience using sacrificial humans, the archdemon is not dangerous to you at all. If your playing this deck right you should have a huge field of humans out there just waiting to be sacrificed. Especially since your running 4 doomsayers, he is just great and i love the doomsayer/flayer combo.
+1 and much love to ya Johnny!
Check out Falkenrath Noble with that combo and gain life and have your opponent/opponents lose lots of life for the win baby!
Here's my black n white deck:sorins-wurm-bait
this is almost exactly like my build except im a little heavier in white +1 from me and let me know what you think of mine, deck:demon-fodder
It seems like your early game may be a little weak. Maybe add a few Honor of the Pures or Intangible Virtues to buff up your human tokens early on as a threat till mid/late game.
@jfriday09 The may get the chance to hit once before they are sac'd so Intangible Virtue probably doesn't help this deck much and I can't justify the card space to buff only half my creatures with Honor of the Pure.
Wow...me and you have almost the exact same deck haha. I like your build though, have you thought about Altar's Reap? It triggers morbid for the priest and Tragic Slip,in case you dont have a sac engine up. A deck like this can go into top deck mode very quick and Altar's Reap can give you some much needed card advantage. Good deck though +1
this deck is very similar to mine deck:all-humans-must-die
tweak your sideboard with some Oblivion Rings and Divine Offering and maybe some mass removal like days. since you can rebound quickly
@bman5604 I'm not too good with my sideboard cards. How does that look?
Well if you like it please +1 it. I see what you mean though about the story. This is by far my favorite deck to play. I can't wait until FNM this week to test this version out!
The towns folk were sac'd. Lingering Souls is better for fliers and has cooler flavor!
Ya, but don't you want to sac humans instead of spirits? But all in all, souls is a better token generator.
yeah that was the part I was stuck on but I was pretty weak against flyers in play testing so the souls were subbed. Trust me it was a hard choice. But at least the flavor part stands up.
id toss in at least 2 Evolving Wilds great deck thinning and might give you that need shuffle you are lacking
I think Reaper from the Abyss would be a good addition to this deck sac em and destroy some?? just a thought
I just purchased this deck; not knowing how it will be. I will do some tweeking to the sideboard, but I have a majority of this deck! I hope it works great!
I ran it today against friends in multi-player at work and it was very good. I was 2-1 but that's because third game they were rolling me. I can't wait to try it again at FNM.
will end up killing you every time. All it takes is a Black Sun's Zenith for 1 and bam, 9 damage done to you a turn. And Black Sun's Zenith is a very common and popular card.
Don't flip the demon if your humans are weak. He's not a bad guy unflipped. Every game so far where I've played him I've had a human with many counters bigger than him ready to be sac'd. Anyways he's more end game and I like the flavor and the additional sac outlet. What do you think?
Reminds me of my own deck, Demonic Worship Give it a look and let me know what you think!
I can't believe no-one mentioned this yet:
Doomed Traveler is a boss and an auto-include in any b/w semi tokens deck, not to mention that it's a heavenly sacrifice target.
swap for 2 thraben doomsayers and 2 village cannibals IMO.
Aside from that it looks alright, although i'd probably run 1 less altar's reap and sub in another sorin if you have it
+1
I like it. Mostly because it makes Humans die. (Humans have become my bane in meta.)
Wolf run werewolves mostly
Wow really? I didn't even realize that.
Falkenrath Noble would be a pretty awesome card in your mainboard here, because of all the sacrificing you'll be doing. As for your sideboard...
Have you considered Surgical Extraction, as an answer to undying creatures? I'd probably put another Oblivion Ring in your sideboard, and probably at least one more Day of Judgment.
This looks really good. If you can find a place for one more Skirsdag High Priest, I think that would be good- that card is massively effective. This looks pretty tight. Good stuff!
Gave your deck a +1 because I really like the idea of it. Check out my deck W/B/R Tokens if you could. Our decks are more or less the same, just with a slightly different spin on things.
a couple of thoughts,
i playtested this deck 100 times and i got mana screwed more times then a deck should. I dont know why this is seeing that you have 24 lands but thats the facts
my other though,
i feel like that , Mirran Crusader, Mikaeus, the Lunarch these are all valuble cards (human) that those top two cards hog...
@permhole96 you playtested this deck 100 times? That's more than I have.
I can't say I've been mana screwed with this deck much. 24 lands have been my golden number forever with few minor adjustments.
I think i will playtest some of your suggested creatures as it will be fun to mix it up. I didn't like Skirsdag Flayer or Doomed Traveler as they seemed kind of week. Also 4xGather the Townsfolk is replaced by 2x Lingering Souls
Thanks for your feedback. Please keep it coming.
just think about those Gather the Townsfolk... also, how much do you use Vault of the Archangel?
Elspeth Tirel would be pretty fun, you could try with her, plus her ultimate can devastate your opponent. She's a fun girl. +1
Try Mortarpod and Tragic Slip your sacking creature and doing damage also you are getting a -13/-13 kill spell
never-mind the slips
how has this done at FNM
I have not had a chance to try it at a FNM yet. If you do please let me know and I'll put it in the update. I've only played casually in multiplayer and it decimates.
ok, ive already built a version of this deck Humans to the rescue and am taking it to my FNM in a couple of days, ill let you know!
lol, its not letting me link my deck...
thats the wrong deck, im sorry

Just went 4-0 at my local game store undefeated! Crazy nobody had an answer to it. I played it with Demons, removal, sacrifice, Tragic Slip etc. No one card combo spoke loudest but I did love the early game cards.
Just went 4-0 at lunch today against the guys at work in multiplayer. It's pretty crazy how well this deck works. The trick is to know when to sac 'em.
I've built a similar deck called Kill all the humans... even your own.
I think this is a very cool deck, but i sort of wondered whether it might not be better without could be taken of for some more Increasing Devotion. It just feels dangerous and also dies to removal. I like your deck though so +1 for the idea.
I made a deck similar to this one. Here is link http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/the-power/ I am still making changes as I play with it and its only based off of cards I currently own.
I found that Sun Titan can be very useful in bringing back all of the lower cost cards in this deck. You may want to consider adding this card.
I noticed you added the Royal Assassins and Reaper from the Abyss cards since the last time I viewed this deck. How have these worked out?
I did notice that this deck needed some removal in addition to the 4xTragic Slip. I added Skirsdag Flayer but have found that it isn't working as well as I had hoped.
i've also found that Jar of Eyeballs is very effective for finding/drawing the cards that you need.
@habitualpuma that is a awesome flavorful card to put in this deck. Thanks I might try it. :)
Nice deck. I made a variant with red as well. Human Sacrifice
Edit deck:human-sacrifice-19
Edit-deck:human-sacrifice-19
+1 for sure.
If you don't mind me asking, why Village Cannibals over Unruly Mob?
@nvergara45 I thought the same thing. But then I realized that they both have their advantages. Village Cannibals has potential to get counters when opponent's humans die. With Unruly Mob of course its only your creatures but they don't have to be human. With this deck being mostly human creatures that you would want to sacrifice I can see why Village Cannibals was chosen. I actually have both in my deck
Also Village Cannibals is less vulnerable when I'm not sacing or killing anything. I wouldn't have figured that one out if I hadn't played it.
but Unruly Mob is cheaper, but i still agree with that
Yeah it was a weird thing but it's better to have the "I get big because of death" guys to be a bit bigger than 1/1 when they come out otherwise they are a bit too weak. Also if they Mind Control one of my other humans and I kill it, Village Cannibals still gets +1/+1. Yeah it happened.
Not so sure about the benefits of Thraben Doomsayer and Royal Assassin, but overall I like this deck. It has a lot of good synergy. Very nice. +1
Thraben Doomsayer is a huge part of this deck. He's a human making machine. Royal Assassin is because this deck has poor removal. I'm still testing him out so the jury is still not in on him.
if your running lots of humans maybe think about splashing in angelic overseer
hey, would you be so kind as to help out a friend whos just starting magic and saw ur deck and wanted to build it kind of like your B/U???
he needs the help and i would be very appreciative if you could offer some advice to a player just starting. This goes for anybody who wants to help him get started...
the deck is called deck:sorin-and-tokens
thx, and just ask if u need shit
Nice, so this is primarily a human token deck then. I must say that this looks really solid too, I playtested it a few times and this deck can really handle itself.
How do you find the s in the deck? With so many human tokens running around, i'm suprised you don't have 4 of them (especially with 24 lands and a generally fair/low curve). Why not add two more in exchange for your Disciple of Griselbrand, and sideboard the disciple for either your 2 Go for the Throat or Geth's Verdict? You already have a lot of removal in that sideboard, especially with Day of Judgment.
That way, your aggro threats will not only be Champion of the Parish and Village Cannibals but better odds of some brutal flying Archdemon of Greed cards too!
+1, especially for putting the cannibals in here XD
Zombie Apocalypse would murder him with 4 Archdemon of Greeds. Disciple of Griselbrand gives him solid sacrifice good for the Skirsdag High Priest which in my opinion is better than the 9/9:
I think this deck would go great with a Doomed Traveler + Undying Evil or Mausoleum Guard + Undying Evil If you can plz leave tips on my deck.
Didn't like Village Cannibals so i replaced with Accorder Paladin. Also, don't have money for Sorin so i replaced with Oblivion Ring. here it is: Morbidly Human
this is deffinately one of the better thought of bw decks on the site, so u have my approval. lemme point some things out here
Skirsdag High Priest a 2 of! haha i always tell people u only need 2 in a deck but your some1 who figured it out so cheers
Thraben Doomsayer costs 1WW so with less plains than swamps i wonder how much you get him out without much problem...it must be your shuffling coz ide never get away with it lol. ide do something about it though, coz luck tends to run out,
lets think about Sorin, Lord of Innistrad at release he went $60 in some places yet never impacted standard like jtms or even lili (who was around the same price)...and his price went down quite fast too, why? coz he is actully overhyped..im not saying hes bad..he is actually good. but not good enough to simply be in every bw deck especially since ur not doing the common token swarm attack plan with a shizloada anthems. the emblems arent that important..just saying..
but a pw is your personal thing i guess it all depends on taste
my take on your deck for my personal playtesting (against my bw decks X_X Morbid the humans crusaders are in coz there such a beast in standard, the Suture Priest is ther coz it hurts with the tokens i have and hero...gl mate and remember, your doing extremely well
I'll be the first one to admit that Sorin doesn't do much in this deck but make tokens and emblems. I pull one in a draft and one in a random pack so I thought might as well get my value for him. Thanks. :)
I wonder what avacyn's return will hold for this deck... Also, does anyone have any advice on replacements for Royal Assassin? I was thinking Wakedancer, for it's morbid bonus. Any ideas? I'm trying to make it only from the Innistrad block to make sure it doesn't lose anything big and can have the best longevity in standard play.
I built this, almost card for card, I subbed in Bloodgift Demon for Royal Assassin granted haven't seen it yet, but that's what I did.
Have you thought of Thalia, Guardian of Thraben as a 4-of in place of the Royal Assassins and Reaper from the Abyss'?
They'll disrupt their early game more and will be better for you to set up nicely. And once you don't need it or have another one in hand, you can just sacrifice the one in play (and still benefit from it as its a human) and play the other.
The Royal Assassin always get's the shaft but people forget how powerful he really is. Just as a deterrent to your opponent attacking you because he knows that his best attacker will die before it get a chance is enough to make most of the people I play this deck against pause. And one pause is enough for me to human/sac engine my way to victory. Yes don't underestimate the Royal Assassin. He's better then you might think.
Swamp ive gotta tell you man you've got a very well thought out deck, one extremely similar to one ive been homebrewing for a while. At my local fnm theres alot of competitive guys that ive showed a version of this off to and a few takes ive made of it myself.
Anyway have you Considered Gideon Jura? back when you were still running the increasing devotions mainboard i swapped them out for 2 Gideon Juras i had taken out the disciple of Grisslebrand and the royal assassins at the time and replaced them with a playset of lingering souls for testing purposes(at this time i rebalanced the land to make it a little more smooth).later i removed 2 of them and put in 2 more Altar's Reaps because having that draw advantage was just so amazing.
anyway on to what i had thoughts wise to the Gideons 1. often times my opponent doesn't want to swing when you need to remove something important on his board when he knows you have vault of the archangel up, when you use gideon's 2nd ability this sets up a perfect way to blow through alot of his guys with some of your tokens and other things possibly making your village cannible ginormous depending on how many humans die in that process.2. if by some chance you still need more things dead and Gideon Jura lives his -2 does the exact same thing as Royal Assassin in a sense. Although Gideon doesnt deter an attack as well as he does.
Also something else i had experimented with was Massacre Wurm (swapped one out with a ravenous demon, running one of each was definitely interesting) however doing that i fealt like the sacrifice part of the deck was lacking a bit as id end up flooding the field with human tokens occasionally. for this purpose if you like Massacre Wurm it may be worth putting into the sideboard if you play a guy who is flooding the field with anoying 2 toughness peoples.
Just wandering on your thoughts as far as those changes go.here's my version of it:
