After playing this style of deck for several weeks, I have found that it's biggest issue is an inability to draw cards. One massive benefit of this deck is its ability to generate a large amount of energy, and so the solution found in the center of those two circumstances is
Shielded Aether Thief
. While
Shielded Aether Thief
does not directly synergize with this deck in any way besides energy usage, it does solve three major issues which have prevented themselves during gameplay: the aforementioned card issue, a weakness to creature based strategies, and a weakness to control strategies. It can be flashed in in response to control's oppressive nature and tendency to play instants, and it is a 0/4 body which effectively blocks any creature with 3 or less power. It functions particularly well against
Ahn-Crop Crasher
and its exert ability.
This deck is all about combing off. Because,
Panharmonicon
is absolutely busted and a blast to play.
Combo 1: Decoction Module + Panharmonicon + Whirler Virtuoso
or Aetherstorm Roc + Decoction Module + Whirler Virtuoso
or Aetherstorm Roc + Panharmonicon + Whirler Virtuoso
The OG combo of Decoction Module, Whirler Virtuoso, and Panharmonicon can all be utilized together to go infinite provided you have four on board.
Aetherstorm Roc
can replace a decoction module somewhere in the fray if you'd like. To perform this combo, you create a thopter with Whitler Virtuoso, then that gets you three or more energy because of ETB effects. Do that multiple times.
Combo 2: Animation Module + Decoction Module + Fabrication Module
The combo built into the game. These three cards were made to play together. Whenever you gain energy that activates
Fabrication Module
which then triggers Animation Module. You pay one to create a servo and that starts the cycle again. You can do this as many times as you like provided you have the mana for it. Speaking of which...
Combo 3: Rishkar, Peema Renegade + Spontaneous Artist
and Animation Module + Decoction Module + Fabrication Module
This is some high quality jank. So, to trigger this combo you have to have all of those cards on the board aside from
Spontaneous Artist
. If you have all five on the board: First you generate one energy with
Fabrication Module
and place the +1/+1 counter on
Spontaneous Artist
. Then that triggers Animation Module and you pay the trigger to create a servo, which then activates Decoction Module, once again triggering
Fabrication Module
. Now, you pay one energy on
Spontaneous Artist
to give your servo haste, and add the +1/+1 counter from
Fabrication Module
. Tap your servo for one mana and continue the combo until you have a massive Servo army, then swing to win.
If you don't have all five cards on the board you need to have access to five mana and then play
Spontaneous Artist
. That will trigger Decoction Module and
Fabrication Module
. From there you simply need to follow through on the combo.
Combo 4: Aethergeode Miner + Decoction Module + Panharmonicon
; to have a net gain you need
Fabrication Module
This Combo is an easier to execute version of the above combo. Once you have your combo deices on board (and a target for them), you can flicker
Aethergeode Miner
. This triggers The Decoction Module(s) giving you two +1/+1 counters which you can place on any creature. After that, it's simply a mater of making your creature sufficiently large and swinging out.
Combo 5: Whirler Virtuoso+Decoction Module+Era of Innovation+Panharmonicon and Rishkar, Peema Renegade + Spontaneous Artist
To perform this combo, you need to have all of the pieces on the board and one mana up. First you activate Whirler Virtuoso and make a thopter. That triggers both Decoction Module and
Era of Innovation
. Pay the cost for
Era of Innovation
, then you're back to three energy. Activate Whirler Virtuoso again, and once you have to pay for the trigger of
Era of Innovation
activate
Spontaneous Artist
to give your previous thopter haste. Tap the thopter for mana then repeat the cycle to create infinite thopters.
