Gonti & the Aetherborns

Standard BG (Golgari)

WoolfMan

Sideboard

Black/green standard tribal - Gonti and the Aetherborns (my homage to Captain Scarlett and the Mysterons).

Gameplay: The deck is built around Yahenni, Undying Partisan, a 3 cost 2/2 with haste. It gets better... if a creature target opponent dies he gets +1/+1 counter and when you use his ability to sacrifice another creature he becomes indestructible. So boss right!

Vengeful Rebel is creature version of Grasp of Darkness and is a powerful addition to the deck. If a permanent you own leaves the battlefield, it will trigger Revolt, meaning when he enters he gives target creature -3/-3. Evolving Wilds helps trigger Revolt for Vengeful Rebel (and also Fatal Push) and by sacking Evolving Wilds, Vengeful Rebel kills an opponent's creature. Horrible righ? That's the name of the game here, why else would you play black than to be horrible.

Gonti, Lord of Luxury is a bastard, a 4 drop with the ability to steal stuff off the top of an opponent's deck. Ya simply gotta love that and couple that with the fact that he is also a 2/3 Deathtouch as well he is phenomenal. As a Legendary the next cast removes the one on the battlefield, but his effect is so good he is worth sacking to replace. Demon of Dark Schemes can "blink" him if need be.

Gifted Aetherborn is the new Vampire Nighthawk, without the flying and as he has lifelong and deathtouch, he is a perfect inclusion to the lineup. A two drop as well, so he comes out early and is also sackable to give Yahenni, Undying Partisan indestructible.

Midnight Entourage buffs all the Aetherborns and works well with Metallic Mimic which gives additional +1/+1 counters to creatures that enter the battlefield. Shit can get nasty very quickly here. Winding Constrictor is so awesome in this deck, buffing more creatures faster. Nissa, Vital Force drops plants and she then spreads counters across all my creatures, which in turn aids the entry of Aetherborn Marauder who can potentially come onto the battlefield as a 20/20 flyer with lifelink.

Ruinous Path is in the deck to stuff up Planeswalkers, for the new Standard is filled with them and Yahenni, Undying Partisan is a creature killer with a plus side, allowing for a free cast from hand of a card with converted mana cost 3 or less. That in itself is frikkin' amazeballs!

Fatal Push is the killer removal in this deck. A one drop to remove a small creature, using Revolt it removes a larger creature - it is insanely good. Perhaps the best black removal spell of all time?

SIDEBOARD FUN:Hand control can be managed with Harsh Scrutiny, Transgress the Mind and Lost Legacy, allowing me to manage what my opponent is able to play.

This deck is black green goodness with a tribal feel that contains loads and loads of nasty surprises.
