Explaining the title:This was originally a golgari deck, but it was really slow, and it was almost at the point where I'd always lose to aggro. I added som red and with some imagination you can understand how I came to the conclusion that the title I chose sounded cool.
Some deck-tech:
The beaters:
Lotleth Troll and Scavenging Ooze. These two are brothers in arms, and they will wreak havoc whever they are out. Getting either of them out early is often a possibility, and when that is possible they quickly turn into serious threats.
Assisters:
Varolz, the Scar-Striped: I have one of this guy, because when he comes out he is sometimes insanely good, but I don't have a deck made to support having him out all the time.
Deathrite Shaman: Do I even need a reason? He is very useful as graveyard hate if I don't already have scavenging ooze out, and since I have so much removal I can almost always exile instants/sorceries all day long.
Ghor-Clan Rampager: The trample is often useful, and when he hits the yard it is often possible to use him for something. If I have a lack of creatures he isn't a bad body to build on.
Late game heavy stuff:
Desecration Demon:He will rarely get to attack, but he is a respectable target to scavenge, and on the field he is just value all day. Works well with Blood.
Death's Presence: Just in case the game comes to lategame, and the anemy topdecks some removal to kill my tank i have this thing to make it a bit sweeter of a deal for me. Just transicioning the power from one creature to another isn't too bad.
Deadbridge Chant: Fills the graveyard pretty nicely, and the effect of getting to pick a random card every turn is just icing on the cake.
Vraska the Unseen: I love this card, but it's hard to play in a a good way, so it has a pity-spot in this deck, although it does some work occasionally.
Finishing spells:
Flesh / Blood and Armed / Dangerous are both great finishers for when you have a piece of beef on the field and can't quite get to lethal.
Removal:
I have a lot of removal in this deck, since it's so slow, and I think It's hilarious to see my enemies curse under their breath as i triumphantly show them my fifth removal-spell of the game. Yes, I'm that guy.
If you have actually read to this point you might have noticed that my mana-base is a mess, and you are absolutely correct. At the moment I can not afford any Overgrown Tombs, Blood Crypts or scry temples, so this deck has some mana problems.
I have just changed this deck from terribly slow golgari to slightly less slow Jund, so I might have missed some potential cards. All suggestions are appreciated. Don't be afraid to critizise, as long as you are constructive.
Thank you for reading!
