Went first on the first time running the deck and here's the breakdown:
Match 1: R/W Control
A mix of the use of Purphoros, God of the Forge and a mix of burn and tokens to take out its opponent. However, it wasn't able to do much against the lifegain with Whip of Erebos and Gray Merchant of Asphodel and quickly ran out of answers for my creatures. I boarded in Liliana Vess, which proved helpful when he tried to hold on to his Elspeth, Sun's Champions. 2-0.
Match 2: G/r Super Ramp
A Green Devotion deck that splashed Red for Crater's Claws and Xenagos, the Reveler. Game 1 I didn't have much to deal with his Hornet Queens, and fell pray to his multiple tokens. Games 2 and 3 went a lot smoother though after boarding in Doomwake Giant to sweep away the tokens and Elvish Mystics. The Constellation trigger also helped a Bile Blight sweep away some annoying Courser of Kruphixes gunking up the board. 2-1.
Match 3: Jund Midrange
A new and interesting deck to play against. It used early control with Hero's Downfall into Underworld Cerberus, Xenagos, the Reveler, Reaper of the Wilds, Whip of Erebos, and other on-color goodies. Game 1 I came out to a strong start with Herald of Torment and Squelching Leeches followed up with Whip of Erebos. An unmorphed Ruthless Ripper put the game away. Game 2 my opponent mana screwed, missing one of his colors, and just wasn't able to recover from it. 2-0.
The main thing I got from the night was Doomwake Giant is way to good to say in the sideboard, so I've decided to move them to the mainboard for now.
