This is my upgrade to the pre-constructed Gideon planes walker deck. I wanted to keep it budget-friendly and also to keep some of the original "feel" of the deck. That said, it is quite a bit different. And it plays very well, for a casual deck! Improvements, recommendations and criticisms are all welcome!

Just realized that Guided Strike is not modern, so I took them out and added another Defiant Strike and Impeccable Timing.

UPDATE

I didn't realize how close to being standard (at least for a little while longer) this deck was.

The following cards would need to be replaced:

• Blessed Alliance (I love this card)
• Defiant Strike
• Angelic Gift
• Radiant Fountain

I think the deck works fine with less than 23 lands. What I lose are cards that untap and cards that draw.

So...

I could easily add more Djeru's Resolve and Act of Heroism for untap. Also, Dauntless Aven is a form of untap.

Card draw is a little tougher for white in standard right now. One idea I am planning to test out is adding Daredevil Dragster. It's delayed card draw with no guarantee, but a 4/4 for 3 mana isn't a terrible card.

For the Daredevil Dragster, I want to swap out a couple creatures, but I am struggling with which.

Anyone have suggestions as to what swaps I could make? My initial thoughts center around Sparring Mummy, Tah-Crop Elite, and Vizier of the True mostly due to their mana cost.

I wish there were some decent 1-drop white creatures in standard.

UPDATE

The standard version...still budget. I don't expect to win any tournaments, but it is a fun casual deck that is super cheap. I need to play it more to see if it is better or worse than the previous, non-standard version.

Sideboard right now is mostly just for testing, except the Fragmentize. I'm actually considering putting that main board.
