All I have to say is that Fate Reforged just made Red Devotion an amazing possibility!! The buffs for red were awesome and I'm glad to see they came with a devotion of 2 red on some of them.
This Deck is a mix between aggro and burn, yet the main win con has to be dropping a Fanatic of Mogis and Crater's Claws. These two cards are the bread n' butter of this deck.
Turn 1: This should be a turn where you either drop a Mountain and pass or drop a Mountain and make the opponent cringe when u hit them with the Monastery Swiftspear.
Turn 2: Now we have some options; we can hold on to a magma jet to boost our Monastery Swiftspear and get rid of some blockers, or build up some devotion with Eidolon of the Great Revel/Mardu Scout. We don't really wanna dash anything just yet.
Turn 3: If we're happy with our hand go ahead and drop a Flamewake Phoenix, if you feel like you need some more options go ahead and drop Prophetic Flamespeaker. If u want to deal with some pesky flyers though, I'd suggest morphing the
Ashcloud Phoenix
and making them cry as their Mantis Rider dies. Even if they do kill ur phoenix before being able to block, it'll just come back face-down!
Turn 4: Hopefully by now you've made a dent in your opponent's life total cuz here's were some bombs can get dropped. Have great deviotion, Drop the Fanatic of Mogis and shock your opponent. Need to get rid of mana dorks or prevent blockers? Boom, Chandra, Pyromaster. I could also see playing the
Flamerush Rider
for dash but let's hold off on that.
Turn 5: here is when things can get ridiculous, do u have a Fanatic of Mogis on the field? if so, go ahead and dash your
Flamerush Rider
, swing and clone the Fanatic of Mogis, that is at least 11 damage being swung for and at least 3 damage dealt when the token came in... Pretty @$%@!#$ Ridiculous!!
Once you feel like your devotion is great go ahead and use Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx's ability and drop a Crater's Claws for insane damage!!!
Me and my friend are gonna run this deck with Black devotion splash red for Mogis, all that drain and burn is doubled because of the fact everything in the decks says to each opponent, quite the gross combo.
