Enchantment (1)

Planeswalker (1)

Land (1)

I was introduced to Magic last weekend and wanted to jump in and explore it. This is my first shot at a spirit control deck, budget-friendly!

This deck comes in around $50.

The basic idea is applying constant pressure to your opponent through forced taps, attacking with flying creatures, and stacking counters. Most cards in this deck cost 3 mana or less to play, giving you some breathing room to counter. Drogskol Captain should be on the field as early as possible, and Always Watching following him. Most of your creatures will be hard to block due to flying, and hard to destroy with spells. Once they're out, swing away!

If your opponent pulls out a big creature, hit him with Reflector Mage, or Negate their Planeswalker summon. Essence Flux combos well with Topplegeist, and Rattlechains can be cast as an instant if you need quick protection before you hexproof your squad.

Land picks here are to pressure your opponent a little bit more. Ghost Quarter can knock out a nonbasic land and Moorland Haunt gives you a couple extra spirits to play around with.

Sideboard picks are mainly for defense and utility.

Thanks for checking this out and enjoy!
