Paper Pauper Mono-R Midrange Ramp?
Mono- Ulamog's Crusher + Generator Servant = Ulamog's Servant? Soul Crusher? Yeah... Soul Crusher.

A pet project of mine and an ongoing experiment, involving Soulbright Flamekin, its "add " ability (that's an enticing EIGHT red mana, btw) and Eldrazi Devastator (or Ulamog's Crusher as I imagine most would prefer). The general idea is to ramp up to 8 mana before Turn 8, and then "free"-cast Eldrazi Devastator.

  • Start with Bloodlust Inciter/Torch Courier. Use these later on to give your big threat haste when you cast it.
  • Generator Servant is also here to provide haste to your beater, and also to help ramp into it. It doesn't quite jive with Infernal Plunge, so I'm not sure if it's the best option for this deck, buuuuut... I keep leaving it in every time I update the deck, so.... Yeah.
  • In addition to the three creatures mentioned above, Expedite also provides haste, as well as some much needed card draw.
  • Soulbright Flamekin inspired this deck. Use it and the other ramp tricks in here to generate on the spot, or do it the hard way with the creatures mentioned below.
  • Cathodion and Burning-Tree Emissary are both here to combo with Infernal Plunge. Cathodion is the better of the two because it won't add to your mana pool until you actually sacrifice it to Infernal Plunge. The Emissary adds to your mana pool when it enters the battle field instead, but it adds two mana instead of one Treasure like all the other "get-mana-when-they-die" creatures in pauper.
  • Last but not least of the creatures is Eldrazi Devastator, an -drop with built-in trample. Give it haste as soon as it hits the field and go all _Attack on Titan_ on somebody's ass.
  • Dragon Mantle is included as an alternate mana-dump in case you never draw the Eldrazi. As a cantrip, it also draws you a card which might help you actually draw the Eldrazi.
  • Speaking of draw, there's also the classic Tormenting Voice and Forgotten Cave, as well as another cantrip, Expedite.
  • And finally, Smoldering Spires is added for a bit of control over the board when you finally do attack.

SUGGESTIONS?: This deck lacks any defense, like answers to control/removal, and it also currently has no removal of its own. Suggestions along those lines would be truly appreciated. Thanks for stopping by!
