Snap Crackle Pox

Modern*

2ndPerk

Sideboard

This deck hopes to keep the opponent low on lands, and counter/destroy anything they can play.

This is still a work in progress, and I'm happy to receive comments/advice/ insults about the deck.

(Sidenote: You know this is a good deck because its name is a pun related to breakfast cereal)

Creatures:

Akki Blizzard Herder: This guy is great in my opinion, at least in this deck. He keeps the land counts low, and since you want him to die, he is a perfect thing to sac to Pox or Scarscale.

Bloodghast: You can discard, sacrifice, abuse, and do whatever you want with this guy, and he just keeps coming back. This is here to reduce the effects of all the self harming cards this deck runs, and to allow for some actual damage, which was an issue I ran into while playing my Mass Saccer deck. (I am not 100% sure about this card yet)

Snapcaster Mage: Need I explain this cards value? Reuse your spells, flash in a blocker, deal damage...This guy does everything.

Young Pyromancer: The decks main wincon, build up tokens and kill your opponent. Also creates sac targets for Pox/ctrack/scarscale, making those cards much better. Crack the Earth seems almost broken with this guy out.

Sorceries:

Crack the Earth: This card seems shitty at first glance, and for the most part, it is. It's a mini Pox for R, and should mostly be used turn 1/2 to screw with your and your opponents Lands. Although you really want things past lands to sac, such as Blerd-Herd, Bloodghast, and Pyro Tokens.

Smallpox: This card is your best friend, it makes your opponent hate you so much it can screw with their gameplay. The secret is to minimize your losses, while maximizing theirs by playing it with careful timing. Sac the same things as always, discard Bloodghast or something you can Snapcast, sacrifice those useless extra lands (you only need 3 at most).

Treasure Cruise: As it turns out, Ancestral Recall is really good, even at sorcery speed. The Delve is enabled by Dakmor Salvage.

Instants:

Lightning Bolt: It's a Lightning Bolt, what sort of red deck doesn't run lightning bolt. Very good for killing opponents creatures or dealing that last little bit of damage.

Rune Snag: This seemed to be the best counterspell for this deck. It requires only 2 mana, and still has value if discarded.

Lands:

Dakmor Salvage: Helps enable the Delve cost on cruise, allows you to guarantee a land draw when you "accidentally" destroy all of your own lands, gets Bloodghasts in the graveyard, and doesn't hurt to sac as much as other lands do.

The rest of the lands are pretty uninteresting. Mostly decided on by what I already own, more than anything else.

Sideboard:

Not really a thing ATM, I have Terminate there because it is a card I want to try to fit into the deck, as it very much lacks spot removal.

Scarscale Ritual: It's a divination for 2 mana, with a very small downside, which can also be straight up extra value. Sac the same creatures to this as you would to Pox/Crack.

Warren Weirding: It's basically just Cruel Edict, with the added bonus of being able to target yourself to sac Blerd-Herd and make 2 goblin tokens, which is always fun.

Electrolyze: Really good value card, kill small creatures, draw new cards, what more can one want. Sadly, this also moves your mana curve into the 3's. (I'm unsure about this card ATM)
