Naya Burn

Modern*

Dawnsly

Finished 6-3 at StarCityGames Baltimore. Started off by losing the first two games to two Abzan Decks (Not Abzan Company). Won 6 straight, then lost to Jeskai Saheeli. Tied in game 3 of Round 9, after deflecting palming his Felidar Gurdian Combo when he was at 1 life. Killed us both, went to game 4, just ran out of gas towards the end :(

Notes from SCG Baltimore:

Didn't see anyone else playing Burn. Faced off against Eldrazi Tron 3 times, Abzan 2 times, Grixis Death Shadow once, Jund Death Shadow once, W/B Control once, and lastly Jeskai Saheeli once.

Sideboard was pretty useless against most of the matchups. Path to Exileand Deflecting Palm helped out a lotagainst the Death Shadow match ups and Eldrazi Tron. Destructive Revelry was also pretty useful. Didn't bring in Kor Firewalker or Atarka's Command. Mainly had Atarka's Command for company decks. Besides my two of my friends that went with me, I didn't see any company decks looming around. I know there were quiet a few, just didn't get to face them.

All in all, I think the deck is 10x better without Grim Lavamancer. Played Lavamancer in the deck for quiet sometime, but felt like he was too slow at times, or 95% of the time got bolted, pushed, or path'd instantly.
