Just imagine.

BEATING YOUR ASS!

That's what this deck does.

The plan is to use Blood Seeker & Trespasser's Curse as extra copies of Suture Priest (thus the nickname "12-Priest") to make your opponent literally afraid of casting their own creatures. Or even having creatures.

  • Starting defensively, Soul Warden/Soul's Attendant and Suture Priest will both cushion your life total any time _you_ cast another creature. This allows you to absorb several attacks as you stock up on your essential creatures.
  • Raise the Alarm can be used as a combat trick when blocking. With two or more [of the creatures named above] out this can be a pretty powerful effect.
  • Soul Warden/Soul's Attendant will also trigger off your opponent's creatures entering, so, you know, remember that. It'll come up.
  • On the aggressive side, we have Blood Seeker, Suture Priest (pulling double duty) and Trespasser's Curse, the "12-Priests" of the deck. The creatures make your opponent lose life whenever they cast a creature, as does the enchantment. Trespasser's Curse can be particularly good when the opponent has no removal that targets enchantments or generic permanents.
  • In the meantime, Basilica Screecher is a flying blocker, or a mana-waste due to its Extort ability. Every _other_ spell you cast allows you to spend an extra mana to make the life total swings even larger.
  • Once the opponent takes the risk and casts a creature, make them suffer for it with Turn to Mist and Graceful Reprieve. Bounce the opponent's creatures to avoid an attacker or blocker, and deal some extra damage while you're at it.
  • My thematic choice for removal is now Crib Swap, much better than Humble which I was using before. Cast it on a creature you don't like before blocking (like something with an ETB effect that you don't want to re-trigger), and POOF, it's gone forever AND you just made the opponent trigger all your passive aggressive creatures.
  • Paying the 2 life for Night's Whisper should be no problem, allowing for easy drawing/digging. Paying 1 life for Dusk Legion Zealot should be even easier, and you'll probably gain enough life to offset the loss anyway.
  • Finally, Orzhov Basilica is here just to abuse Piranha Marsh, which serves as my thematic counterpart to the Scoured Barrens. Just more LOGO (lose-one-gain-one) shenanigans.
