H: Snapcaster Mage, tons of stuff, W: BUG Delver pieces listed below.

Slov. Have you played BUG delver? I proxied up the deck and play-tested for like seven hours with it against a bunch of other decks at a pizza/mtg night with my friends in order to practice for a legacy GP a few weeks back. The deck is so fucking boring, and it's deceptively weak if you aren't piloting it perfectly... and it's almost impossible to pilot perfectly. On top of that, the Goyf's are horrendous; a necessary evil, if you will. They provide the clock you sometimes need, but they are really bad in like 70-80% of the situations you find yourself in.

If you want to go BUG, I'd suggest Shardless BUG. It's more grindy and can get unintentional draws until you really get the flow of the deck, but it's a much stronger deck than BUG delver. I know the deck has performed well in recent tournaments, but I think that's due to a lack of respect the deck gets in sideboard tech. If people are prepared for the deck, it's really, really bad.

If you haven't already invested a ton of money into building it, i'd really suggest proxy-ing it up and really trying it out to make sure you love it. The "payoff's" for playing the deck, such as stifle-ing fetch lands, really don't happen nearly as often as you'd think.

kyuuri117: You're talking to a 4-C Gifts player in Modern. I enjoy a good, masochistic deck. :P

I recently did rather well and had a lot of fun playing the RUG delver variant at a Legacy tournament (it was a borrowed deck), and BUG happens to be my favorite triple color in the game.

The only major differences between Delver and Shardless are really just replacing Delver itself with Agents, and stifles with ancestral visions- a relatively cheap switchover. One of the reasons I enjoy the BUG combination in Legacy is because it easily slots into a lot of different shells.

what was your Delver list, if I may ask?

I will say that BUG/ RUG/ UR/ Grixis, and Jeskai Delver are all completely different animals in legacy.

BUG is tempo with hand disruption, RUG is the most land destruction oriented with hard to kill threats, UR is aggro/burn, Grixis is kinda good stuff/hand disruption, and Jeskai is control with a side of burn.

They all play very, very differently.

Shardless is best in fair matchups and has great grind right now. BUT, Shardless is very weak to combo, which BUG delver shreds to bits. I think Grixis and BUG are currently (with the correct pilot) the most capable delver variants. BUG is funny because it has SO MANY flexslots in the board, you mentioned Stifle however I don't run Stifle in my BUG delver deck. It can be built into a much more midrangey shell.

BUG delver has been putting up some serious big tournament results since TC went away because its good against a wide field (specifically combo). While Shardless is so much fun, it doesn't hold up well to some decks you see a lot of.

slovakattack, I would say build BUG delver and own the few cards it takes to switch to shardless. Both are super fun, and you can play shardless when you know the meta. Also, I think BUG delver is the most fun deck to play in legacy. But that is because its my deck and I play so much with it.
