Edgar: are there any (no more than) two card combos with his eminence ability?

hi!

So essentially subject from topic head: are there any?

I want to build him, but not having at least one of those "escape now!" buttons in the deck makes me feel insecure. And showing in Kiki/Resto doesn't seem classy enough when there is an eminence engine with such potential value and flavor.

There should be some things like that, right? There can't "not be" any!

Thanks in advance.

I dont think theres anything that really goes infinite with the eminence ability. Maybe something with Oathsworn Vampire and a sac outlet, but that requires a couple extra pieces to be worthwhile. That said, Sanguine Bond and Exquisite Blood make a powerful combo that is on theme with vampires, with two pieces that are harder to interact with (at least aren't creatures and dont die to grave hate) and are decent when not comboing, since lifegain is usually at least a small subtheme of a vampire deck.

Not that I can find. Neither of his abilities are breakable with one or two cards. The best I can find is Cloudstone Curio along with Edgar Markov, Conspiracy, Kobolds of Kher Keep, and Crimson Kobolds, and that’s four cards, other than the commander

We just built my son a tribal vampire commander waiting for some cards to fill in for mana. Vampires have a lot that stacks with Sanguine Bond add in Drana's Emissary, Cliffhaven Vampire, Gifted Aetherborn and a ton more with lifelink, Sanctum Seeker which with the token spam can get crazy add in Sorin, Lord of Innistrad and Bloodline Keeper  Flip and Olivia Voldaren to steal creatures as vampire and attack them with their own creature. That is not even counting Vampire Envoy

All that will help stack with that combo you can have some crazy fun with Vampire tribal

I don't know any, and I doubt there are any 2 card combo's but I think there may be something with Edgewalker, a sac outlet and perhaps some way to recast a vampire cleric from the graveyard? Drana's Emissary/Duskborne Skymarcher, Phyrexian Altar/Goblin Bombardment and Magus of the Will

I know it doesn't work because magus exiles, but maybe you or someone else can out together something that works

I found a really cool thing you can do with Oathsworn Vampire SO Butcher of Malakir and Indulgent Aristocrat and Drana's Emissary oh so fun pretty simple use sacrifice get +1/+1 counters witch triggers the Butcher of Malakir make other people sacrifice and at upkeep you get oathsworn back recast him rinse and repeat.

That is scratching the surface you can stack this loop to all types of fun with leveraging the initial sacrifice Blood Artist, Havengul Vampire,Bloodflow Connoisseur these are just examples you can stack more on top of that with vampires. Now we need to add Oathsworn into my sons deck and if Edgar is you commander when you bring oathsworn back on the field you get another vampire token oh the glorious ways to stack in mtg.

I would suggest just adding Oathsworn Vampire, a cost reducer like Urza's Incubator, and a couple of sac outlets. Oathsworn, Incubator, and Phyrexian Altar do make infinite 1/1s with the Eminence ability, and incubator and oathsworn are decent anyway, and if you add in an aristocrats subhteme altar can be great as well. But with a lot of sacrifice outlets, you'll be surprised how easy it is to go accidentally infinite, or at least have an unbeatable value engine. Oathsworn Vampire + Indulgent Aristocrat gives you the ability to pay , repeatedly, without spending any cards, and make a 1/1 token, then put a +1/+1 counter on all your creatures.

Other cost reducers you could use are Bontu's Monument (witch makes the combo an instant win instead of needing to wait for the tokens to lose summoning sickness) or Jet Medallion. Helm of Awakening maybe?
