Complete Deck Rearangment —March 26, 2015

The Old Deck:

2x Blasphemous Act 4x Blood Artist 2x Creepy Doll 4x Dark Ritual 4x Darksteel Ingot 4x Diabolic Tutor 4x Dragonskull Summit 3x Guttersnipe 4x Incinerate 2x Killing Wave 4x Lightning Bolt 5x Mountain 2x Seething Song 3x Sign in Blood 2x Stuffy Doll 6x Swamp 4x Tainted Peak 1x Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth

Goals:

Burn opponent, or
Damage Stuffy Doll, or
Board Wipe with Blood Artist or Falkenrath Noble on the field. Killing Wave is a game winner in this scenario. And if you use Blasphemous Act with Stuffy Doll on the field as well as Blood Artist or Falkenrath Noble then that's even better

Notes:

I'm a bit unsure of the Precursor Golem and Guttersnipe part. I can either get a better token generator for Blood Artist, Blasphemous Act and Killing Wave OR I could use that card space for bringing out my artifacts quicker. No idea how at this point.

Some credit goes to fallingbomb and Dreathful for the idea of killing off my own Blood Artists with Killing Wave

Hey Cyrrus, this seems like a really fun deck. I am a little confused about a few things though. Like, why do you have Precursor Golem s in there? And if you are basing this deck somewhat around Stuffy Doll , why do you only have 2 of them? Also, I am not sure how effective Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle would be. Just some queries, otherwise a really cool looking deck :)!

Well I thought that Precursor Golem could replicate my burns. But it can't so disappointed :(

I only have 2 Stuffy Doll s because it's too expensive to include max both that and Creepy Doll without having a way to bring my artifacts out quicker. But now that I know Precursor Golem is useless I can either get a better token generator for Blood Artist , Blasphemous Act and Killing Wave OR I could use that spot for bringing out my artifacts. No idea how at this point.

Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle would be awesome if I had more mountains. But with only 6 maybe not. It's a maybe at this point because I don't know what I'm doing with my lands until I know what I'm doing with my deck.

Dark Ritual isn't legal so I might need an alternative if I want to stay modern

Hi. It's me again.

I like this deck and what it does.

Some suggestions:

-4 Coldsteel Heart for +4 Darksteel Ingot : The ingot can produce any mana, won't be destroyed AND can be activated the same turn it comes into play.

-4 Akoum Refuge for +4 Tainted Peak : Does not come into play tapped and still gives you red or black mana.

-1 Mountain for +1 Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth , or 1 Swamp : You have more cards that need 2 black mana then cards that need 2 red mana (none to be exact) and Tainted Peak needs swamps. Urborg would fix the case that you might have a lot of black cards on your hand to cast without restricting your red mana.

-3 Precursor Golem for +2 Sign in Blood and +1 Seething Song , or for +3 Sign in Blood : Card draw is always good and with Sign in Blood you can simply deal the last 2 needed damage. For example: Your opponent sacrifices all but 2 life to keep the creatures that let him win in the next turn and you simply shoot 2 damage into his face (can be 4 with Guttersnipe ).

I hope this helped.

Hey thanks. that's great advice. I was looking for a way to get rid of Precursor Golem since it doesn't do what I initially thought. Changes have been made

I'm glad that my suggestions help you.

I would still suggest to swap out those Akoum Refuge for Tainted Peak s since they only slow you down for coming into play tapped.

true. I didn't because I saw it was an old card and assumed it was super expensive. But I just did a quick search then and its only around $0.95 AUD. I think I'll change the deck to casual and add it. It's not like this deck is legal in modern anyway :p
