A bunch of new cards are coming out, some of which are big misses, and some are locks to go in.
The short list: Sanguine Evangelist, Preacher of the Schism, City on Fire, March of the Canonized, Master of Dark Rites, Bloodletter of Aclazotz. Maybe Queen's Bay Paladin, Order of Sacred Dusk, and Clavileno, First of the Blessed.
Potential cuts: Kalastria Highborn, Gatekeeper of Malakir
, Nullpriest of Oblivion, Anje's Ravager, Dark Impostor, Pawn of Ulamog, Welcoming Vampire, Immersturm Predator, Kalitas, Traitor of Ghet, Olivia Voldaren, Twilight Prophet, Bloodlord of Vaasgoth.
Sanguine Evangelist's problem is that its white, not black, and Vampire Nocturnus + Ascendant Evincar want aparteid.
Vito, Fanatic of Aclazotz is for the aristocats deck, as is Bartolome del Presidio
Clavileno, First of the Blessed looks cool, though maybe is more for saccing stuff than regular attacks. I actually think it's just bad. New realization that it draws. Better, but by how much?
Queen's Bay Paladin is a nice immediate and continued form of reanimation
Amalia Benavides Aguirre is for the life-gain version, I think?
Preacher of the Schism is part mavren fein and part draw engine. Could at least be better than Anje's Ravager. I think because you have to attack, you aren’t always in control or his modes ( sometimes he won’t trigger at all depending on who you go after), and is less bursty than the Ravager, I’ll pass for now.
Bloodletter of Aclazotz means business. I like it.
Bringer of the Last Gift is probably not for vampire decks. Cool that it could completely rebuild (looks better in 'crats), but 8 mana is 8 mana is 8 mana. It's too much.
Tarrian's Journal Flip does so much that it's impossible to get a read on how good it is or where it's supposed to go.
City on Fire is very red, but it represents a truck-load of damage.
March of the Canonized is weird. unprecedented for the deck. Without many Black artifacts/enchantments, the second half won’t trigger without several creatures already in play.
Order of Sacred Dusk. Not sure how well exalted works in a go-wide deck with lords.
Master of Dark Rites is the best vampire in the set, and best in general in a long while.
Dusk Legion Sergeant sucks that he requires mana left up, but is a passable 2-drop.
